Hi,
Re:- Mustang III
What is the input impedance of the headphone jack ?
Which type of headphone is best suited for volume
and tone etc.
My current 2 headphones' volume and tone are pretty weak,
requiring a high level of Main Volume but still a thin sound.
Any advice or tech detail available for this issue ?

Jim

Hi Jim,

I trust that you received my email. Here is the same information. The headphone impedance for the Fender Mustang series amps is 25 ohms left and right. A wide variety of headphones will work. You may want to look for a pair rated at 32 ohms. These would be optimal.

Hi Joaquin,

please dont kill yourself over a pair of headphones.

From the sdpecs of the senheiser I see thei are DJ headphones and: "Lightweight diaphragm material with “turbine” embossing for extremely low bass"

I'm not suprised it sounds horrible.

I would prefer any headphones with the flatest possible response.

The audio technica ones look more like studio headphones so I guess they should be fine... but honestly they cost almost the same than the amp so I do not see how they justify their price.

I use some old panasonic headphones that I paid 30$ and sound terrific with the Mustang 3

Dear jedi ,
See the money is not the issue here, the MIII is my practice amp and i need to hear it as good as it cant get.
Im down to the Audiotechnica m50 or the Beyerdynamuc DT770 80ohms.

Can you ( or someone else ) give me a hand here ? ( The budget would be like 200 USD if someone needs that info )

Thanks for the replays !
Best regards

Hi Guys,

So, as was stated earlier in this thread, the headphone amp is set up to accommodate a wide variety of headphones. I have just plugged in a pair of Audio Technica phones. I listened to both guitar and Aux in signals. They are a budget pair of phones ($40-$50). They worked satisfactorily. It may not make sense to spend $200 on a pair of headphones for use with the amp only as that would be a bit over the top as a match to the headphone amp itself. But of course, that is always an option. At any rate, the original information is included here again below.

(The headphone impedance for the Fender Mustang series amps is 25 ohms left and right. A wide variety of headphones will work. You may want to look for a pair rated at 32 ohms. These would be optimal.)

+1 for anything Panasonic. Definitely my favorite brand for most electronics. I have a Panasonic VCR that's 22 years old and still works like new.

My current headphones were a gift so I don't know what they cost, but they're typical Sony over-the-ear headphones, probably between $30-50. They sound nice and balanced to my ears.

Is it a matter of not getting the answer you expected?

Hi joaquin.moreno,

As this entire subject comes down to largely a matter of taste, can you specify which of your questions you are asking us to respond to?
