Hi guys,

Recently I bought my first electric guitar and amplifier. My amplifier is a Fender Mustang I.
Now, I really think those presets are cool and stuff but how do I get a normal clean sound or a normal overdrive without all those presets and effects? I'm sorry if this sounds stupid but I can't seem to get to it and I couldn't find any relevant information.

Answers would be much appreciated! Thank you!

-Dilara

Extra information: My guitar is an Epiphone ES-339.

Well, you can't get rid of presets altogether -- this amp is a modeling amp that always uses a preset of some sort.

The best way to get rid of effects is to plug your amp into a computer and launch Fuse software, and adjust it there.

Aside from that, right on the amp you can turn off most effects by turning the mod knob, slightly to the right, and then all the way to left. Do the same with the delay/reverb knob. That will have turned off all mod and delay/reverb effects. Hit save twice if you want to save your change. Otherwise every time you change presets or turn the amp off and then go back to the preset you changed you will have to turn off the effects again.

Then adjust the gain to get the amount of distortion you want. If the preset is one that already has a stomp effect (compressor, overdrive, fuzz, etc.) then you can only turn that off by using Fuse.

If you go to the help section of the Fender site there is an advance manual for your amp that would answer your question.

Have fun
