I want to use a simple multitap delay on my Mustang III with delay1 set to 326ms and delay2 set to 435ms for some kind of U2 multitap delay. Can anyone help me how to achieve this? I don't understand how to tweak parameters on this delay. ..

Unfortunately, the multitap delay is a simple and limited one. I can only suggest to get you in the ballpark but not on the field is to hover your mouse over the delay time knob and the ms will show and adjust rotary dial to 326ms. Then work the Mode knob a bit to get kind of close.

Also, I have requested they look into getting a tap tempo button in FUSE.

Can anyone at least explain how this multitap delay works? Maybe someone from the Fender staff? the MODE control Options are "Custom" ,"1 2 -", "- 2 3", "1 - 3" and "1 2 3". What does it mean?

I don't see "Custom" on mine (though my firmware is not the latest, not sure if anything has changed recently).

Once you choose the delay time, the numbers control when the echoes will occur.

You might also think of it as the hits of a "Down-Up-Down-Up" pattern.

It may be easiest to hear if you dial the FDBK down to one repeat, and level all the way up.

Then, e.g., choosing a delay time of 100ms, "1 2 -" will give you repeats at 100ms and 200ms ("DUD-", or could be sort of a triplet feel).
"- 2 3" => 200ms and 300ms ("D-DU", or timing reminiscent of Bob Marley's "Stir it Up").
"1 - 3" => 100ms and 300ms ("DU-U").
"1 2 3" => 100ms, 200ms, and 300ms repeats ("DUDU").

The combination you asked for earlier can be considered (if we label the 435ms as a quarter note), a combination of a dotted eighth and quarter note delays:

1/4 => 435ms
1/8 => 435/2 = 217.5ms
Dotted eighth => 1.5 x 217.5 = 326.25ms

Sadly, the Mustang can't do this. I think it would be great addition (and Fender say they will consider it for a future enhancement along with other suggestions--let's keep our fingers crossed).

HTH,

PITA

Thank you pita. This maken it more clear. Although I don't understand the other knobs completely. Also not for the other delays, or the other effect in general. But that might be a subject for another posting in this forum...

Regarding effects and various parameters in general, we would be happy to offer some additional general information to you. It is beyond the scope of this discussion to add all related details here. But, please send us an email with your Forum name, real name and the text from your post, and we will be glad to forward some information to you about this.

old, thread but I happened to be looking for the same thing so Google brought me here.
What a weird answer from Fender support! "rather than explain in a public place where others might find the answer later, we'll answer you privately" ???

anyway, a year later the tap tempo / dotted eight capability is still not in the product. It's nice to seek feedback but it's even nicer to act on it, and for the current product line, not for the rev3 or some new product that would force me to buy a new amp.
