Im having trouble guys - the 6 new alkaline cells i put in the new mustang mini only last a couple of minutes - the mini runs fine on the 12v psu - the back of the mini says it needs 12v - but 6 cells X 1.5V = 9 volts also nowhere does it say i gotta use alkaline - with rechargable its 6 x 1.2v = 7.2 volts and the mini needs 12????
can someone please explain to me how this works? - is this why i cant run my new mini on batteries????

Hi eddd57,

We will be happy to assist. Your Fender Mustang Mini should certainly run on batteries longer than "a couple of minutes". Since there is no "low battery" indicator on the Mustang Mini, could you please describe the behavior or sound when the amp runs out of battery life. Thanks and we hope to hear from you soon.

Hey FenderTSL, I was thinking it might be like if you leave the wires connected to a Boss stomp box, it will drain the batteries even if you have the pedal switched off. Is that the case with the Mustang Mini?

Hi eddd57,

Thanks for your reply. Your Fender Mustang Mini should get several hours of playing time, so at this point we would like for you to contact us directly at tsl@fender.com and include your full name, address, amp model and serial number so we can look into this further. Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks.

I run my mini on rechargeable NIMH batteries I got at Amazon about 90% of the time (I haul it down to the beach here & play). I have never run out of power. Longest I've played was about 3 hours, and had it cranked pretty good. Better for the environment, far cheaper and C cells are hard to find in Thailand. Spend a few bucks and save a lot of bucks.

I will only use rechargeable batteries. Amazon has great deals and I always have batteries when needed. Thinking ahead works for me.

Hi Guys,

Just to chime in here and add a bit of extra information - the Fender Mustang Mini should operate for 10 -12 hours with batteries under normal usage before the the batteries begin to fade. This may vary with rechargeable batteries. But this is about what you should expect. Please let us know if we can assist further. Thanks.

Hi BlackStrat4,

That sounds great. And yes, depending upon the use and settings, you certainly can get extended life out of the batteries on your Fender Mustang Mini as you note here. Thanks. And keep enjoying your amp.

Cheers,

when I read "the Fender Mustang Mini should operate for 10 -12 hours with batteries" I had to laugh. I can't play that long! Never get anywhere near running down in normal life (whatever that is....). Another reason to go with rechargables.

Hi Emster 23,

The 10-12 hours listed here is a minimum as a good quality set of batteries can last up to 15 hours or longer depending upon use. With that said, rechargeable batteries should work well. Please let us know if we can assist with anything else.
