Hi. I'm a newbie who just got a Mustang Floor Unit. I love many of the presets and am excited about using the unit onstage, but would like to change the preset order so I can put several similar ones next to each other. (E.g., variations of clean tones, different distortion sounds, etc.) However, I'm really struggling to understand just how to rearrange the presets into an order that will work for me. The Fuse software look like a good tool, but I'm at a loss to know how to even begin arranging the presets into a preferred order. Everything I've seen on this Forum seems to imply that the user knows what they're doing with the software, but I'm really struggling here. Can someone be good enough to give me a step-by-step guide to put the presets into slots that will make sense for me? Please approach this from the perspective that you're dealing with a novice here in terms of programming anything, and that ought to help. In other words, don't assume that I know or understand anything about the Floor Unit or the Fuse software, ok? I apologize for my ignorance, but I'd really appreciate any help you folks can provide. Thanks in advance.

Hmmm, if you're really that new to the Mustang Floor, etc, then I'd question whether re-arranging the preset order is the most important thing to get to grips with first.

However, if that's what you want to do, then I'd suggest searching the forum for "change preset order" - you'll find several existing topics and posts already describing different ways to do it, so no need to repeat them here. You don't even need FUSE, if that worries you, you can do it on the M-Floor itself. After you've read the existing posts that explain how to do this, ask again if you have any follow-up questions, if anything still doesn't make sense.

(NB I assume you're asking about the technicalities of how to change the order, rather than the acoustics of which presets it would make sense to have adjacent to each other - that's obviously a personal preference. But mentioning for clarification just in case).

Thanks for the response. I can get around on the Mustang Floor unit just fine. The issue for me is getting the presets in the order that works for me. I guess I'm just going to have to do a lot of digging and put in a lot of time working with this protocol until I get it figure out.

I agree with jarasi. This should really be a "Drag and Drop" thing in Fuse. This isn't the first time this subject has been brought up.

O.

Thank you for that affirmation. Wouldn't it make life much easier if the presets were able to be dragged and dropped in Fuse, then applied to the Floor Unit? That would really simplify things and make the whole experience more user friendly, I'm thinking.

Hopefully not. As per my previous reply, searching for "change preset order" gives several posts, that answer the question / give the information you need. Didn't take much digging or time to find these:

Agree entirely. It's been discussed many times before (search forum for "drag drop" if you're interested...) and requested of Fender for a future FUSE version. Unfortunately I don't think it's available yet, but the (admittedly a bit cumbersome) methods in the posts linked above do at least let you do it.

For software it is a little clunky, since drag and drop is a cornerstone of computing. It's like some execs nephew got the software gig. Things like that do happen. :x

Here is the link to the app for editing the preset order:

It's called Horse Tamer and works very well.

As someone who has read a lot of posts on this forum that is the first time I have seen the words "app for editing the preset order"

I for one was not interested in reading the threads Scott linked to, as I assumed they were more of the same - i.e. copy here, move there etc
(I code for a living and the idea of copy here, move there fills me with despair (via a trackpad makes it even worse))
That is my problem I know!... but the words "app for editing" are key

Oh ok, it was my mistake to assume you actually read what you were commenting on.
