I am needing a multi-effect unit but I dont need any amp modeling as Im happy with my amp..Can I use the Fender Floor just as a effects unit? with no amp modeling?
And do you think it would be good setup? running it that way?
My setup right now is Mesa Boogie combo, digi delay pedal, and a Budda Wah.

Thanks in advance!!

This question has been asked and answered many times here. I don't have any specific links, but I'm sure if you search the forum you'll find lots of useful info.

In brief, the answers to your questions are yes (you can use effects only with no amp modelling) and yes (many people use it successfully that way).

Further you don't explicitly ask but yes you can use the M-Floor with other pedals, either between the guitar and M-Floor or between the M-Floor and your amp. You can't insert external effects in-between the effects within the M-Floor.

Related to that last sentence above, another point to note, in case you were thinking of doing this:

You can't use the M Floor in a "4 cable" (4CM) setup, with some of its effects before your pre-amp and other effects in your amp's fx loop. (Yes the M-Floor has an fx loop but it doesn't work in a way that's useful for 4CM). Other posts discuss the pros and cons of this and various setups that do work.

Hi davedp32,

We will be happy to assist. scott-uk, is offering great advice on this topic. What we would recommend is that if you decide to use the Mustang Floor, simply as an FX's unit, you make sure that you bypass amp modeling to get the most transparent signal from the Floor unit to your Mesa Boogie combo. Please let us know if we can assist further.
