Recently I discovered by accident that the speaker of the Mustang 3 is extremelly directional, particularly with the treble tones.
Problem is, the room where I have the amp for practice, I need to be really close to it, so maybe a amp stand would be a good option.

Can anybody recommend a stand appropriate for the M3 that can tilt to about 30-40 degrees? Extra points if it is inexpensive!

Thanks in advance.

I got one of these. You can use it with any amp and so far it has worked on any surface I have put it on. Totally adjustable and portable. Well made. Try it.

I use it with my MIII and the amp I play on at church. It's a no-brainer.

I use these to get them off the floor and they work really good as a jam stool. They are around 26.00 at Walmart, if you can find them.. I use them with a Blues Junior, Blues Deluxe and a heavy Motion Sound KB amp. The angle can be adjusted with a towel under the amp...

Thanks Majorbytes,

Actually I own one of those chairs, but the wife uses it to sit in front of the computer... I would rather not strain the already tense relationship between the wife and the amp.

BTW, I got the mustang on top of an old solid state Traynor amp and fits perfectly, at the same time I connected the fx-send of the mustang to the line in of the other amp, that has a 15" speaker. The combined output of the mustang 12" plus the other 15" sounds like a million dollars.

if you're still looking,

I have one of these, (without the mic boom, just the stand)

very sturdy, I have a Gibson GA30RVS, 89lbs, and it supports it.

the Mustang is much lighter...

Thanks for the reply.

I was wondering how well this system would work with an open back as is the case of the Mustangs. I guess if the back pole is long enough there should be no problem.

If you just want to tilt the amp, something wedge-shaped under the front edge would do the trick, or if that makes you nervous about it falling over backwards, a 'Standback' brand stand that allows for safe and significant tilting and leaves the amp 'coupled' with the floor for better bass/mids might be the go.

If you actually want to raise the height of the amp off the floor to be closer to you, there are plenty of commercial stands available, ranging in price from cheap (and often a bit flimsy) to pricey and sturdy (and often pretty heavy). Some will just get the amp higher, others lift it and allow you to tilt it too. I have tried several different types of these, but was never really happy with any of them and ended up putting the amp on a solid little wooden table unit that I found in a furniture store for about $30.
