hi there,

i am a more or less happy mustang III user: my model fizzes to some extent, i chose to live with it and sometimes use it via send through another amp to get rid of that.

however i have one request considering usb recording: would it be possible to not just only get the processed stereo signal of the amp but also one additional mono d.i. guitar signal for making future reamping possible?!?

the yamaha thr line of mini amps already offers this feature! ;)

if some future firmware implementation and/or asio driver update could add this feature i'd be a happy camper! ... and i'm quite sure that i'm not alone on this one!

cheers,

fretless

That's not currently possible, but something Fender might want to look into.

To get around this problem, I use the AmpliTube plug-in for Ableton and use my Rocksmith USB cable as a direct guitar interface. That way, Ableton samples the guitar and records that, but then the AmpliTube plug-in alters the sound before it comes through my headphones while I'm playing. Then I can play back the recorded track with different amp effects or EQ settings and see what sounds best.

been there, done that. regardless which kind of machine you have, there will always be i/o latency. so what you hear through your plugin is always a tad late and to me that sometimes gets in the way of playing accurately. the fine thing about the mustangs and their usb recording feature is that you have your "processed" monitoring already there in the first place and don't have to listen to your input signal through your computer while recording!

OP, there is an 'empty' preset that you can use with no amp simulations on it.

Also to get around the latency, I plug a cord into my computer out, and run that to the aux on the amp, then headphones from the amp, then I MUTE the track as I record.

thanks, i'll look into that ... though that makes no sense if i want to hear distortion/effects/whatever! maybe for bass though ...?!?

i do the same except bringing the computer out to the aux in of the mustang - the pc got it's own speakers and i avoid headphones whenever possible ...

so my request/wish for the fender guys is still up: please add a "naked" mono d.i. signal to the stereo recording signal in the near future!!! THANKS!!! ;)

cheers,
