So I've heard about the 'empty' preset which is just a Direct In with no amp model.

I downloaded this, but I cant apply it because it says it's corrupted or something. Was this fixed in an update?

If I cant apply it, what would you say is the CLEANEST preset, with the least colourations I could use to plug and external mice thru it?

OK so that's the Empty preset by author PITA?

I just downloaded it and copied it to my amp without issue, how did you go about 'applying' the preset?

I downloaded it, then used the Import button in fuse to browse my computer and find the file.

How updated are you? I thought I was updated, but only fuse was, and not the amp itself, I had to update the amp seperately to get things like the new touch wah settings, and the [Shift] and [EXIT] button modifiers.

I copied it to the amp instead of importing. Go to the media tab and show all the presets you've downloaded to the computer by clicking COMPUTER. Then right-click the preset and you'll see an option to copy it to the amp. You'll have to select which preset on the amp to overwrite.

Sounds like you might be all set with the update though, good stuff! :D

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but when I install this patch to the amp (M3) nobody complain (neither fuse nor the amp) but the amp goes completelly silent. Any idea why?

Purely a thought: if this "empty" preset really does have no amp model in it (or has the amp model turned off), then it doesn't match what the Mustang amp is expecting. On the amps, you can't turn off amp models - only the M Floor allows that.

So it wouldn't surprise me if the amp is confused by the missing (or turned off) amp model. Now, the amp model is the part of the preset that contains the overall preset volume parameter. If the amp can't find the amp model in the preset, it obviously won't find the preset's overall volume. It wouldn't surprise me if in that case it defaults the overall volume to zero - ie silence.

If, when the amp is in this 'silent' state, you try turning up the Volume knob on the amp (not the Master Volume knob!), does that make a difference? The Volume knob is linked to the preset's overall volume, so turning it may override the above default-to-zero (if that is the problem).

OK, so that's not a very useful solution for actually using the preset, but it would be useful to try it to help diagnose the problem.

I don't know the purpose of this preset, and didn't plug my guitar in to see what it does. No info posted in preset info:

The purpose of the preset is to get a Direct In withOUT the colouring of an amp model. So I can plug a Zoom H2 microphone into my amp, and get a clean signal. Otherwise, I'd have to put the amp on a very clean setting so there isnt amp distortion in the signal.

I've also heard the preset is really quite because without an amp model there's no pre-amp or anything, so its just the signal itself, which isnt amplified by anything.

The Empty Preset is working fine, but there's something special: Its Volume is set to Zero, what means, if you load it, you will allways have to turn the Vol to max or whatever you like. Without turning up the volume you will hear just silence. I am talking of the Volume, not Master!

I have a Mustang 2 and I'm using the "Empty" preset with my electro-acoustic. I have added post-comp to get the volume up and some reverb. Works good.
