According to the manufacturers description the Roland pedal works with Roland and Boss products. So I would think probably not.

How about a Mustang Exp-1?

It's unlikely the Roland pedal will work with the Mustang Floor. However it's also likely that the only way to confirm this will be to try it and see.

Conventional expression pedals are very simple devices: essentially just a rheostat (variable resistance). Moving the pedal changes the resistance, and thus the voltage drop through the pedal. This voltage could be a control signal that's used internally by the amp, or it could be the audio signal being sent directly through the pedal. Either way, one manufacturer's pedal built in this way would likely work with another manufacturer's equipment intended to take such a pedal. There might be differences in the exact resistance range, whether it's linear or logarithmic, etc, that may cause imperfect operation, but the basics should work.

However, these days guitar control units are increasingly digital. The Mustang's dedicated expression pedal certainly is, I don't know about the Roland one. There's no common standard across manufacturers for such digital connections, so it's unlikely one manufacturer's equipment will work with anothers. Indeed, even within a single manufacturer there isn't compatibility: for example, the Fender GDEC footswitch looks the same as the Mustang 4-button footswitch, and even does (almost) the same things. But the two aren't interchangeable.

Of course, there is an industry-wide standard for digital control of music equipment: MIDI. It would be perfectly easy, and eminently sensible, for all manufacturers' footswitches, expression pedals, etc, to use this, and for all their amps etc that use such accessories also to accept MIDI switching. Their reasons for not doing so are probably many, including cost reduction and tying users to buying proprietary accessories.

Can anyone from Fender comment on this? I have a Roland Exp Pedal already and I'm thinking of getting a Mustang Floor...
