my new mustang III gives off awful interference noise on most (except clean ) channels.
Nises range from static to screeches.
Didn't happen at the Guitar Center when I had them check it. Brought it home and it was ok for several hours, then started to act up again
Anyone have the same experience?
Can anyone tell me what to do to fix it?

Not with the Mustang, but I've had a similar experience with other electrical items: they're fine when you first turn them on, including when you take them back to the shop for them to test, but after a few hours the problem appears. It's usually a faulty component that works fine when 'cold' but misbehaves when warmed-up.

If that's the same sort of issue your amp has: if you turn your amp off and disconnect from the mains, leave it overnight, then turn on again the next day: does it work fine for a while, before the problem re-appears?

If that's the case, try it a couple of times to confirm the behaviour is repeatable, then take it back to the shop and leave it with them for them to do the same test - ie leave it turned on for a few hours until the problem arises.

...at which point, ask them to swap it for a different one. I don't think there's anything that can be fixed, sounds like you probably have a faulty unit.

Hmmm, that sounds like some people I know "playing" the guitar :)

how loud do you have the master volume set when you're hearing this?

Thanks.......

Awsomwe . It works cold as you said. Set the master switch to 5 to check it. I'm bringing back to the Guitar center.

What I probably will do, is try the floor model. If that is works ok, I'll return it for a new one.

The problem occurs even if I have the master on 1 or 2.

Thanks .... this is going to be the best forum I ever used.
