Pretty new to this, so please forgive my ignorance. Want to get a basic clean bluesy sound out of the Mustang 1. It seems that all of the amp modulation settings have a fair amount of reverb built in ... at least more than I want. My DLY/REV and MOD settings are off. Is there a way to limit the reverb. The amp is new and I'm assuming there is nothing wrong with it

You should be able to get rid of delay/reverb and mod on the amp itself. You may already know this but the position of the delay/reverb and mod knobs don't automatically show whether the delay/reverb or mods are on or off. So let's say you have the delay/reverb and mod knobs in the off position, and then turn on your amp (or switch presets). You are still going to get whatever delay/reverb or mod effects are in the preset, even if the knobs are set to "off". To use the knobs to turn off those effects, with the amp on first turn each knob to the right to "activate" the knob, and then turn it all the way off (to the left). Now the delay/reverb and mod effects will be off until you restart the amp OR change the preset. If you want them to stay off for a certain preset you need to press save once you turn them off for that preset.

You can also connect the amp to your computer and turn the effects off in Fuse, if you use Fuse.
If the above does not help, and you need help using Fuse, let us know.

One other thing I should have mentioned (pardon me if you already know this). But if you have a preset that has a Mod or dly/rvb effect on it and you kind of like it but would like less of the effect, you can adjust the intensity of the effect by holding down the the exit button and turning the mod or dly/rvb knob to increase or decrease the intensity of the effect. Again, unless you press the save button, the change in intensity will only last until you change presets or turn the amp off (and even if you press save it only effects the preset that is on when you make the change, of course).

Hope this helps.

Don't have guitar today so I can't hear the results. But one question, when i do what you say... turn the MOD/DLY/REV on then all the way off, and push the "Save" button, it flashes. Do I need to hit the "save" button again to stop the flashing and save the preset without effects?

Short answer: Yes.

Long answer: When you change any setting to a preset by turning a knob (other than the master volume which cannot be saved), the save button lights up. That tells you that you have (temporarily) changed one or more of the preset's settings. If you want to save the change, you need to then press save. When you do, it will start blinking. Press save again to confirm that you want to save the change and the change you made will be saved and the save light will turn off.

Also, suggest you read both the "Quick Start" guide that came with the amp, and the "Advanced" manual you can download from the Fender website.

Admittedly neither goes into as much detail as they should, but they do answer all the questions you've asked so far, plus probably several more you're about to encounter, so would save you some time.

one thing to note about saving presets

If you are on the amber bank, they cannot be overwritten from the amp - they can only be overwritten using Fuse

This is stupid as what happens is you are playing on an amber preset, you make some changes and decide to save it.. you are now familiar with the saving process and press the save button twice..
but it jumps to the green channel and you promptly overwrite the green preset you had.

So learn how to back up your presets in Fuse !
