I recently purchased the mustang floor. I already owned the mustang 3.

When I hook up the floor into my computer via the usb cable to do some deep editing through the fuse software I get an annoying buzzing sound into my amp.

I tried this using a rogue 2X12 and my fender pro junior.

any tips or suggestions would be appreciated. It did this, both before, and after I updated the firmware.

Is your computer a laptop? If so, try running it off the batteries while you have it connected. Many laptop power supplies are horribly noisy and can also cause ground loops.

Let us know! I'm betting your noise problem goes away when you run the laptop off of its batteries.

Hi jesseblevins@gmail.com,

It is also possible that a ground loop could occur when you have your notebook connected to the wall outlet. In either case, if the battery idea does not resolve the noise issue you are hearing, you might try the ground lift switch on the back panel of your Fender Mustang Floor. And do please let us know how it is going. Thanks.

When I ran the notebook on its battery the hum went away.

Off the battery, using the ground lift did not work- just to let you know.

Thanks for all of your help.

Keep on jamming!

Hi jesseblevins@gmail.com,

So, that is a good indication that you may still have a grounding or ground loop issue. Depending on what gear you have in your setup, you may want to set up the rig in a different location (i.e. different electrical circuit) in your home/office and see if the gear exhibits the same noise. Also, are you using the 1/4" outputs? If so, and if you can, be sure to try the XLR outputs. This will automatically give you balanced outputs.

Please check these things out and let us know if we can assist further. Thanks.
