I have downloaded Fender Universal ASIO USB driver, Mixcraft 6 recognizes the driver but when you select it in preferences it shows Not Considered Connected Inst 1,2 and there is no sound on the recording track showing the guitar is coming thru. Any suggestions
on what to do to get it to work?

Hi BandOnMe,

I would suggest hovering your mouse over the Mustang ASIO Input Device icon. Look to see what the status is? If the status indicates "Not Ready" or "Busy" or "Idle", you will need to check and make sure that other applications on your PC are not grabbing the input device.

If you do not see the device status in ASIO settings for your amp as "Ready" and you are sure that all other applications that may be trying to grab this device are turned off, I would suggest that you create a new Admin level user account and try Acoustica, Fender Universal ASIO Driver and your amp in that user account. Please let us know if we can assist further.

In regard to the audio track itself in Acoustica, you may need to touch base with that developer to get clarification. In most digital audio workstations, once you select your input and output devices, you will simply record arm your audio track and you should have input signal and be ready to record.

I cannot find a Mustang ASIO Icon on my desktop or anywhere. Where is it located. I have also contacted Acoustica about the problem. I have the Fender ASIO in my programs file. Nothing to tell me if it is in use, ready or not.

Hi BandOnMe,

The ASIO driver is not a program that you open. It is a driver. You will access it in the Acoustica audio setup section. It may likely be in the Preferences area. We do not support that software. But in most cases, you will look in these locations and select ASIO as the driver type. Then you can select the amp as your input device in the ASIO Settings window.

You may want to look through the Acoustica user guide for audio set up information. Please let us know if we can assist further.

As I stated that in the preferences of Mixcraft 6 it shows Fender Universal ASIO as the driver but on the input it shows not connected 1 & 2, & there is no Mustang amp to be selected. I would hope that you would be in contact with Acoustica to iron out the compatiblity issues so I can use my amp with it. For now I will have to try the headphone out route since the USB is non functional at this time with Mixcraft 6. I have also requested that Acoustica get in touch with your guys to work things out. Make it a win-win for all parties and users. By the way I bought this amp used from GC and wonder of the original software cd is available so I could try out the Ableton Live 8 LE and Amplitube LE?

Thanks,

BandOnMe

Hi BandOnMe,

Thanks for your reply. We are happy to assist in any way we can. Fender does not provide direct support for third party software other than what we provide with our products. We do, whenever possible, do our best to offer suggestions and support to assist. In this case, you may need to go to Acoustic for detailed support on how they handle ASIO driver set up in their software. ASIO is a driver standard on the Windows OS. As such, if a particular software application is listed as ASIO compatible, it should see our driver and have the amp as an available device.

Have you confirmed that the amp is connected to your PC? You can do this by going to Device Manager and checking in the 'Sound, Video and Game Controllers' list for a device named 'Mustang'. Please check this out.

In regard to the software that shipped with the amp, please contact us directly and we can assist you in getting the software and needed information.

I just recieved a reply from Acoustica and they suggested I open Mixcraft 6 by right clicking and run as Administrator. I finally was able to see the Mustang amp in the mixer section. I then went to the devices section of my computer and fiddled around the sound devices to get it where I could hear what I was recording. Still was very confusing but by a stroke of luck got it to record and it sounds great. Somehow when I originally loaded the Fender Universal ADIO, it did not connect totally with Mixcraft. This should be a valuable lesson for anyone using Mixcraft 6.

Thanks Again for Your Input,

BandOnMe

@BandOnMe - The issue isn't Mixcraft, it's because you are using your computer under a restricted windows user account, which disallows you to use the asio driver.
Once you used Mixcraft as admin, the asio driver was allowed and you were able to use it.
