Putting together my 1st Electric setup & bought a Fender Mustang I amp. I'm a hobbyist so the 20w is plently for playin' around the house.I just got done downloading the Fuse software & the Amplitube stuff.

This is my 1 time messing w/ an amp & needless to say, I know less than nothing. What drew me to it was 1st of all the name Fender, I've seen Fender amps & guitars used by my favorite Country artists & that sold me. Also, I liked the ability to download more presets.

Now the reason for this thread, I'd like any info/help getting started w/ this amp. I'd like to customize it w/ Country & Southern Rock presets. How can I do that? How do I download presets to my amp?

Thanks y'all!

I believe the information on this Fender Support page should be quite helpful.
Good luck!

I have the Mustang II and love it, especially the 65 Twin Reverb settings.

You made a great choice. Since you're a virgin, we'll all be gentle with you.

I have the same amp and love it for the house and rehearsals.

The first thing to do is go through every patch on your new amp and listen
to them. Get a pencil and paper and make notes as you go so you will be
able to refer back to them later. In your notes, you can write down things
like which patches you like and find usable, and what they do: Delay? Clean?
Overdrive? Slap-back echo?

Also write down the patches you find unusable. You'll find them and it won't
take long. Those are good patches to play with all of the effects so you can
get used to what they do. Play with modulation, delay, etc. Turn the volume
up and down on some patches to see what it does. It'll clean them up or
make them dirtier.

The patches that you find unusable are good places to store or try out new
patches. If you want to try patches other people made, go here and download
them:

https://fuse.fender.com/mustang/

You can spend several days in there listening to those presets. When you bring
them up in the Fuse software, look at the settings and analyze them. Try to
figure out what is making what sound so you will know for your own presets.
You're not going to hurt anything, and you can always recover your original
presets for your amp by doing a factory reset.

When you want to jam to some of your presets, go to the Fuse page and download
some songs: blues, country, etc.

https://fuse.fender.com/

In the Fuse software, you can play those jam tracks and tell Fuse to keep
playing it in a loop. It's great. Since you like country, you will be able to play
the song until the cows come home :)

As someone mentioned, the Twin Reverb is excellent. Mess around with the
preset to clean it up and it will blow your mind if you know what a Twin is
supposed to sound like. You will also enjoy the Deluxe Reverb and the Bassman.
Very impressive stuff. If you decide to let your hair down, there are some
great rock presets - and some of those are uncanny, too, in the way they
sound - like the British 60s I think it is, gives a believable representation of
the Vox amp. The Fender Super Sonic will blow your socks off. If your not
wearing any, it will blow your skivvies off. :)

Good luck. Hope that helps get you a fast start.

Yeah, I've heard great things about the whole Mustang line from a couple buddies of mine. That's a big reason I got it.
Cool, I'll definitely try it.

Yeah please be gentle, bivie. I'll prob'ly be askin' some dumb guestions to start with 'cause of my lack of knowledge.

I already have a notebook full of guitar notes that will definitely be beside me as I familiarize myself w/ my Mustang. I've already spent hours checkin' out the Fuse site & getting to know it. Lookin' forward to testing out all the presets. Gonna be fun. :D

Thanks! All info helps, bivie.

You don't install the software into the amp, the amp will communicate with the PC via a USB cable, and fuse on the PC will allow you to edit and save amp model presets.

so..

1: install fuse software on PC..
2: attach provided usb cable from pc to amp
3: turn on amp
4: start fuse,

Bottom left hand corner should say "connected..." rock on..

Cool. I prob'ly shoulda worded that question differently. I understand that I don't install the Fuse software onto my amp. My question was getting a downloaded(onto the Fuse software on my computer) preset into my amp.

This question has been asked and answered (and discussed at length!) several times already on this forum (nb might be worth searching before asking something, it's quite likely someone else has already raised the same topic!)

Anyway, these topics deal with transferring presets between FUSE and the amp.

Ah Ok,, Got it.

It's really all quite easy, just intimidating at first..

Gutiar amp -> Computer? For most, (especially a dinosaur like me - does NOT compute!)

I'm sure those links will get you rocking,,but if not, just come'on back and ask away...

Someone here will have been where you are and know what the scoop is.
