Check this out: http://www.ehx.com/products/44-magnum
I used this with a Carvin 4x12 cabinet at a rehearsal studio the other day.
WOW!! My new rig is now the Mustang Floor, Magnum 44 and a 1x12 cabinet with the same Celestion(100 watt) that is in the Mustang 3. Sounds unbelievable. Loud. I highly recommend this amp for modellers. At least the Floor anyway. Haven't tried it with my GT-8 yet. Has anyone else tried this amp?

Hi pathtaker,

Our apologies for the late reply. And thanks for chiming in and letting us know how things are going with your new gear.

I looked at that as a possible solution, but I wonder how using it with the Celestion would compare to using it with a Full Range Flat Response (FRFR) speaker.

Good question. I have an Eminence full range I should try.

Looking forward to hearing the results of that test. I'm thinking of buying a pair of small, powered speakers (Yamaha HS50M, 70-watt bi-amplified reference monitors) to play through in my spare bedroom. I imagine the sound reproduction would be very good.

I bought a couple of Altec Lansing Powered Stage Floor Monitor Speakers off of Amazon for around $50.00 each shipped and they sound pretty good for bedroom level. I have been thinking of getting a pair of the Tech 21 Power Engines in the future for a mobile recording rig for my Fender Floor and Zoom G5. It would save a lot of wear and tear on my tube amps. I also use both of these multi effects through a QSC GX5 500 watter through two 15 mains with horns. Sounds like a stadium rig when I do that...

Very convenient indeed. I've pondered this unit, but it has guitar amp coloration me thinks. I'd like to find the same package, but more of a reference monitor amp spec.

BTW, old Alesis RA-100 and 150 amps are cheap, plentiful, yet good reference amps. CL is a good resource for them.
DIY'd powerengine style with an old PV 1x12 combo using a Jensen MOD70 speaker(also cheap).

Today I took my 2 x 12 birch cab with two 16 ohm Texas Heats and rigged them in stereo. Hooked up my QSC GX5 to it and ran my Mustang Floor through it.. Holy crap what a great clean tone and the overdrives are massive. Good as my Blues Deluxe and my Blues Deville with no noise or hum at all, except from the amp models. I ordered a 12db fan for the QSC to quite that down, so I think I have a keeper... All I need now is a 3u skb and I think I am done for a while for my modeling amp.
