Hi tyjuanw,

Thanks very much for taking the time to detail these steps here. And while it may be a bit complex for some users, we appreciate that you wanted to add it in here.

Cheers,

TSL Crew :)

Hey guys,

I just found an easier way of moving presets from Mustang 3-4-5 to Mustang floor without using a text editor and only using fuse.

Apparently the only problem is that when a preset is created on the Mustang3-4-5 and then copied to your PC (either via backup or copying a single preset) there is no valid setting for the expression pedal (particularly if you don't have an expresion pedal). Now if you save this preset to the floor, it will accept it but there would be no sound at all.

hopefully fender will correct this minor glitch on a future firmware upgrade to either the M3-4-5 and/or the floor.

Here is an easy workaround in the meantime.

1-copy the presets you want from the M3-4-5 to your PC one by one or via backup, thec copy the presets to the Fuse "preset" directory as explained previously in this thread.
2- connect your floor, and in fuse, go to "media library" mode (top right of the screen)
3- from the list of presets on top, you should see the ones you just copied to the preset directory. Select them one by one doing right click and then "save preset to amp"

once you get to this point you will notice some presets will have no sound on your floor (probably the ones created on M3-4-5 without pedals). You just need to define a valid use for the expression pedal on the floor. To fix this do the following:

4-go back to 'preset editor' mode (top right button again)
5-select on the floor presets, anyone that has no sound
6- press "control-E" to open pedal expression settings
7- on the second option on the top right, change from "Voilume mode" to "expression mode" and then click okay at the bottom
8 - push the (now) red SAVE button on top right of the screen
9 - click okay again on the save dialog

rock-on!

jedi2b - that's really useful. I wonder if it also answers another question that's been posted a few times on this forum without resolution: several M-Floor owners report that presets downloaded from the Fender online library, are silent for them (while the same presets work fine for other people).

Could it simply be that those presets were created/uploaded by M-3/4/5 owners and are thus missing the expression pedal setting? In which case, your steps 4 to 9 would solve that problem too?

I think it's the same issue. I noticed that from the presets downloaded from the fender site, most of the created by Fender themselves work right away on the floor but many of the user contributed do not.

To answer your question, yes, I was able to fix all the presets that gave no sound on the floor using that same method (backups from my M3 or newer ones downloaded from fuse site). If anybody else wants to try and report back that would be great.

If anybody (Fender support?) wants to take a more technical look, the offending configuration for the floor is at the very bottom of the preset XML file, some parameter of the expression pedal make the floor go silent. If you replace the whole section by an expression pedal section from a preset that works fine with the floor and load the preset again on the floor the preset works as expected.

Hi Guys,

I am checking in with our Software team to see if there may be other options in regard to this. Please stand by, and I will follow up with any relevant information. Thanks.

Cheers,
