Anyone care to share their favorite amp/cab/guitar combonations?

I have had a hard time getting my Les Paul with humbuckers to sound good with the Fender Amp models in my Mustang amp. My Telecaster sounds great with all the Fender models.
I decided to try different amp models with various cabinents from other amps models to see if I could come up with a combonation that sounded good with my Les Paul.
I found two so far.

1. 57 Champ with a 4x10 cabinent from a Bassman.
2. 59 Bassman with 2x12C cabinent from a Vox.

Of course you will have to adjust the tone controls to further get the correct sound.

I would like to know what combonations everyone else has come up with.
I have found the 65 Twin amp sounds better matched with various 4x12 cabs and my Tele with single coils.

I've been using a clean bassman sound through the 4x12m I believe. I'm about to start experimenting with no cab sim as I've been experience a lot of bass through my V cab. When I use a dirty bassman I stick with the 4x10 cab sim.
Plexi through the Twin Rev cab also was sounding good for me as well. I'm always using a strat with sc pups. Very rarely a tele.

Try this one....turn the cab sim OFF when using the Deluxe Reverb amp sim. It sounds really nice and the digital artifacts are greatly reduced. I use this setting for most of my patches. The amp is a 1x12 anyway, so why emulate a 1x12?

I have two favorites, a Marshall 1959SLP (British '70s) with the 4x12G cabinet with my Gibson SG Special and a Mesa Dual-Rectifier (American '90s), 4x12V with my Warmoth custom strat.

I found, to my surprise, that the "British 60s" amp model sounds best (for me, anyway)with the "57 Deluxe" cab simulation. I'd always just used the "2x12" cab as being the 'right' choice for that amp model. Shows that it pays to experiment.

My favorite amp model is the 57 deluxe and I mostely just use the matching cab. But sometimes like to swap in the Champ cab. It darkens the tone a little, takes some of the chimey edge off. Sounds cool in its own way.

I was under the impression that the Mustang's power amp and physical speaker were supposed to have a reasonably neutral response so as not to colour the sound. The different cab simulations then provided whatever speaker tone was wanted.

So I would expect the physical, neutral 1x12 speaker with no cab simulation to sound different than with the same speaker with a (guitar-amp-voiced) 1x12 simulation on it.

Certainly for me, the M IV's 2x12 sounds different with "no cab" vs the "2x12" cab simulation. Neither is better, the sounds suit different moods, but they're definitely different.

No problem! Don't forget to turn the speaker sim back on when going direct through the effects send.

The included speaker is far from neutral. That's the problem.

What we need is a Mustang combo with a FRFR setup built-in. Meaning CLEAN power amp, a neutral 12" speaker and a tweeter. Now THAT would be SWEET!
