At 40 years old I finally decided to learn how to play guitar and have been loving it... Wish I would have learned years ago! I bought the Mustang III because of all the built in effects and tweaking that can be done, my problem is that I'm having trouble figuring out how to reproduce the effects of particular songs/artists. Is there a place on the net to go to find settings? I'm sure people who have been playing for years can probably do alot by ear but I don't know the amp and effects well enough yet.

Thanks in advance!

The 100 presets that come with the Mustang 3 include many that are clearly modeled on a particular artist or song style - while copyright probably prevents Fender from directly naming the artists/styles being emulated, often you can work it out from the preset name.

Beyond those 100 that come with the amp, the Fuse online library contains hundreds of presets uploaded by Mustang users, and many of these also set out to emulate the tones of particular players or bands - with varying degrees of success. Some are pretty accurate, some are way off beam, but all are fun to try ! You can search the library by artist name, song name etc.

If an artist has a very distinctive style, often you can find info on the net about the gear and amp settings that they use, and then try applying those using the various amp models and controls on the Mustang - this is easier to do of course if the amp used by the player is also one of those already modeled on the Mustang.

Good hunting !

Thanks a ton! Been looking around at it and lots to use. Never bothered playing around with the software. Appreciate it!

No problem.

While trying to emulate the tones of famous players is fun, and something most of us do from time to time, don't be shy of looking for your own sound !
