yes, for the same reason i chose mustang floor instead of any other midi foot controller. well, I guess I should just do it this way; midi from MF to laptop, audio from laptop to MF return, and then xlr from MF to PA. I don't know if the return input would still work in the midi controller mode (I mean, idk whether it will just bypass all the existing functions of MF, since the return input is dependent on the stomp switch 1.) but that I should just try to figure out.

Hi eui,

We are just chiming in here. It seems that you are more so looking at "apples and oranges" so to speak. Each product in question has it's own merits. At any rate, it sounds like you have a game plan on moving forward with your Fender® Mustang™ Floor and your set up.
If we can be of assistance, please let us know.

Best Regards,

Greetings from Venezuela
First excuse my English because it is not my native language. I speak Spanish .
Finally I get my mustang floor and is really quite nice to hear its sounds and multiple options which even learn to use. Every day I learn something new ... It is really fantastic .
Now my query.
In other forums and I read the performance mustang floor as midi controller.
My computer is a MacBook 5.2 4GB Ram meets old but their tasks.
I have it installed on both Amplitube 3 as the Guitar Rig 5 .
When buying the mustang floor and recommendations of users of this forum buy a USB MIDI cable connection then do the following :
Mustang floor connect the cable in the pedal out and out the cable to pedal in ... probe in reverse and did not work.
I put in one preseth did not have any kind of set effects.
In amplitube recognizes the pedal but with the option to learn does not always work .
With the rig to find the pedal to the option of MIDI guitar tells me off and was not working with epermite m .
I have installed on my Mac OS X 10.7.2 .
I need to install any additional software or am omitting any step.
I think it is cable problem but I have not gotten to test other
Thanks in advance for your attention.

for the physical connection:
-make sure you got the usb-to-midi cable drivers properly installed
-you need to go from MIDI out on the mustang floor, through you midi-to-usb cable to any usb port on you computer
-my midi-to-usb cable i bizarrelly marked, the cable connector marked as "IN" actually needs to be connected to the MIDI-out on the floor... :)

on the m floor:
-now be sure your mustang floor is in "fx-select mode" (RED light above the MODE button), otherwise click the mode button to put it in FX-select mode. this makes the mustang floor send MIDI CC# commands to the computer. (in PRESET mode (green light) it sends MIDI PC# commands but I think (not sure) amplitube does not work with PC#)

on amplitube:
-suppose you want to control on-off of a stomp located before the amp in amplitube
-go to settings - audio-midi setup
-on the lower part, select your midi controller (mine is called MIDI-USB2.0), then OK
-on amplitube mid-low to the right look for a button that says MIDI, click on it
-click add - stomp A - (name of the stomp effect) - bypass
-click "learn"
-on the m floor push the "STOMP" button, if all goes well immediatelly you will see that amplitube asigned the CC#23 to the bypass funtion of the pre-amp stomp
-click ok, and you are good to go rock!

if it does not work you either have a problem with the USB-midi cable, the drivers or the way you connected it to the floor

in the same way you can use any of the 5 lower buttons on the floor and also the pedal(for example to control a wah on amplitube). if the pedal does not work check that it is enabled on the "UTIL" menu on the floor, go to option 14 and set CC#10 (thats the one i use) also go to option 15 and also select CC#10

as an add on, I discovered by accident that with amplitube you can do something quite cool: you can assign a single midi control (let's say the floor exp pedal) to more that a single parameter inside amplitube, so for example, with the exp pedal, you could control at the same time a Wah and the tone of an OD amplitube effect, or bypass more than a single amplitube effect with a single push on the floor

In the previous report message that my computer is a Mac She installs its own drivers. 8) With the Kontrol Native Instruments was just plug and play (passing through the respective roles of assignment of each software) in this case when I test Mac OS for MIDI controller that is ringing (as if a button was pressed) in the guitar Rig to what MIDI is active in preseth preseth passing.
I doubt the defective cable (despite being new) as it is a cheap cable.
I wait for a friend to lend me a cable running and tell them!
Thanks for your answers. :D
