Hi Guys,

I just wanted to chime in here regarding the question of the noise gate and it's function. Basically, a noise gate can be useful in reducing noise or hum in a given signal chain. in this case, it is the amp model and any effects that are applied. To adjust to its maximum usefulness, you will want to work with the Threshold and Depth controls to find the best balance for the Presets that are selected. The two adjustments available are explained (briefly) below. Please let us know if we can assist here further.

-Threshold (the input level below which gain reduction occurs),
-Depth (maximum level) of attenuation

Please see the Fender foot switch part number below. I think you will find it quite affordable at your favorite music retailer. Please let us know if we can assist further.
Optional 1-Button Footswitch for Toggling 2 Quick Access Presets (P/N 099-4049-000)

I have a question about the Fender footswitch. I currently use the BOSS, mentioned above, with my M2 and find it a bit annoying... When I switch from, say, preset 1 to preset 2 the switch happens when I release the footswitch. When I want to switch back again, it happend when I presses the footswitch. I.e. it is not the same when going back and forth. Is this also the case with the Fender? My usual stomb-boxes does not work this way, it is exactly the samen when turning on and off.
(as the BOSS is a simple switch in a case, I can see the logic in it working like this. But it just annoys me!)

Hi madsen,

From what you are describing, the answer would be no. The Fender foot switch is designed to work with your amp. You can switch back and forth to your (2) programmed Presets smoothly. Please let me know if we can assist further.
