I just got my Mustang Floor and I'm loving it. I am in the process of tweaking things, but I was wondering if anyone else out there, that plays in the church on Sundays, has any Christian or Hillsong type patches? We play everything from Hillsong, Jesus Culture, David Crowder Band, Chris Tomlin, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I also play in church and also just got a new Mustang Floor. I'm not aware of Hillsong/Christian songs having guitar sounds that are any different than what anyone else is doing. I've just always set my stuff up (including the Mustang Floor) with the first patch (far left) being very clean, then getting progressively dirtier until the 5th patch (far right) is my solo sound - then I'm ready for anything. On the Floor, my first patch is a clean '65 Deluxe Reverb. 2nd patch is also a '65 Deluxe Reverb, but with the gain all the way up. 3rd patch is my Soft Fusion patch - Super-Sonic Burn model with the emphasis on the sustain, but not on the distortion so much. 4th patch is my Heavy Metal patch with the Metal 2000 model designed for power chords. 5th patch is my solo sound - a Super-Sonic Burn model set up to be loud and to sustain like my old Mesa Boogie amp. All of the patches have a touch of spring reverb, a Wah waiting under the Stomp button, Chorus waiting under the Mod button, and a subtle Tape Delay waiting under the Delay button. The delay for the Clean patch is a quick slap-back echo - the others have a longer delay. Whatever kind of song they call up, I have a patch ready to fit it.

There are different sounds for various tunes with the type of songs they play. They seem pretty traditional in terms of tones. I would say to search for U2 and the Edge as well as Pink Floyd and Trey Anastasio and Phish. These, save delay use, appear to be basically it when I listen to them.

Dapper - that's good to know, I'll mess around with those settings and see what sounds good. What I meant as far as sounds, were the tweaks you were talking about and dial in some of my own. I like some of the original presets, just have to move them around like some of the other posts have been talking about. Those are what I kind of had in mind, just haven't had a ton of time to work with it, but it's great so far.

Dr - U2/Edge were the sounds that I tried to emulate in the past, always seemed to work the best with Hillsong-esque sounds.

Thanks for the input!!

Hi,

I just got a Mustang III and would like preset recommendations for Chris Tomlin/Hillsong as well. Perhaps one for all out strumming and one for solos?

I think this one is not far from what you are looking for. Maybe add an overdrive for some dirt if youe need it.
Playing with delays is always tricky
