This isn't a troll post, I love my MIII. But I'm finding the fact that you can have only one stompbox effect at a time a real limitation, especially because the wah effect is in the stompbox category. You can't have the wah and the overdrive at the same time, which is a standard guitar setup for many rock tunes.

Would it be possible in a future firmware update to:
A. Move the wah effect into the Mod category?
B. Be able to use two of one effect category at a time, i.e. have two stompbox effects and no mod or delay or reverb effect?

This would greatly enhance the versatility of the Mustang amps, and make them even more competitive to the similar Line 6 offerings.

How could somebody think your post beeing a troll post? Just true what you say. An unnessacary limitation. Not just wah and overdrive. Same for compressor and overdrive. I think three slots for "stompboxes" would make sense. Or to give up the division between Stomp, Delay, Reverb, Modulation. Four slots overall could be enough, but then four slots with free choice .

Agreed! Wah, Compressor, and Overdrive are basics for many o pedal board. They need to be separated so we can use any combination of the three.

Any combination in pre AND post. That would be perfect.

Bravo, Bravo and Bravo. Couldn't agree more.
In fact, this is precisely the reason why I came to this forum, and the reason why I - for now - will be holding off on buying a III.

Thank you folks!

I wouldn't let this limitation stop you from buying an MIII. It's a steal for the money, and you can get stellar tones at gig levels with it the way it is. I was just commenting that with a few changes, it could be even better.

I suspect the answer is "no" - but here goes anyway.
I do not own a Mustang amp (for those not reading down the list). Is it possible, through the software that lives on your Mac/PC to delete a "mod" effect, replace with a "stomp" effect, download to the amp, thus tricking the "not greater than one of the same type" limitation of the current software?
I'd guess someone would have already tried this already - just hoping!
Thanks again, all.

It's not possible at this time, unfortunately. Fender has not indicated any software changes.

Well, thank you much!
Can't ask for much more than that.
All the best - and thanks again to everyone.

Thanks for replying. I would be great to know if this is possible with the current hardware/software. BTW, the Mustang III is the best modeling amp I've played at anywhere near it's price point. Great job, Fender!

Here's an idea: Instead of being locked into having a fixed set of effects in each position, we would be allowed to select what effects we wanted to be available in each position??

Along the lines of:
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/amplifie ... e-stompbox

For example, I doubt that many people regularly use the ring modulator. I'd love to be able to replace that with something like a delay that I can modulate the delayed signal, or a delay on which you can pitch shift the delay and not touch the dry signal.

I envision a system where you can use FUSE to download effects "modules" to your amp, and end up with a set of patches on your amp that are all useful to you.

As an afterthought, this would be a slick way of turning a Mustang V head into a bass head. Just load it with effects tailored to bass, and there you go!!!
