I've been using digital amp modelling since the first Spider amp came out from Line 6 in 1999, which I got to replace my way-too-heavy Mesa Boogie MkIIb. I liked the Spider enough, but wanted more so I got the POD Pro, then the PODxt Pro, then the BOSS GT-Pro. At first, I really loved the ability to have totally different amps behind each patch in my basic bank of amp sounds. I could go from Fender, to Mesa Boogie, to Vox, to Marshall, to Soldano, to Roland, to whatever. After all these years of tweaking my sounds, I finally realized I preferred Fender amps for almost everything - except my solo sound, which I still wanted to sustain like my old Mesa Boogie. I play in a church band and had too many pieces/parts to my setup. I had a rack with my BOSS GT-Pro, controlled by a hefty Roland FC-300 MIDI Foot Controller, into a Tech 21 Power Engine. I like running direct, but the GT-Pro XLR outputs send out a line level signal instead of a mic level signal, which was too strong for the sound guys to deal with (they say), so I had to plug the mic cable into the XLR output on the Tech 21 Power Engine. It worked fine, but it meant that I couldn't ever forego using the Power Engine. Then, I read about Fender coming out with the Mustang Floor. I was so excited. It seemed perfect for me - great Fender amp models, 1/4" outputs for my Power Engine, and level controlled XLR outputs (so I could send the direct signal to the sound guys from the Mustang Floor and wouldn't have to use the Power Engine if I didn't want to). We use the Aviom Personal Mixer system, so the Power Engine isn't absolutely necessary. Well, I got the Mustang Floor a couple weeks ago, spent a week making my own patches, and used it at the church last Sunday. I love it. It sounds better than anything I used before. I was a little concerned about getting a nice sustained solo sound, but the Super-Sonic Burn model works just fine. It's not as aggressive sounding as the Mesa Boogie models I'd been using in the Line 6 and BOSS units, but sounds sweeter and sustains like I need it to. I like the fact that the Mustang effects are fewer and more basic. I don't need a dozen different Wah models - just one that works. I just need a basic Chorus, a basic Delay, and now I have a great Spring Reverb, too. Ordinarily, I would've been very apprehensive about buying a brand new product like this, but it has the brain of the tried & tested and very popular Fender Mustang amp series. Some reviews I've read about the Mustangs, including the Floor, claim that they're good for everything except heavy metal type sounds. What? I guess they haven't yet tried the Metal 2000 and American '90s models. They sound quite Metal to me. I don't really play Heavy Metal much, but when I first plugged in the Floor and went through the presets, I had tons of fun with the preset called "Whitechapel Heavy", so I created my own patch using the Metal 2000 model, called it "Burnt Offerings", and put it in my basic bank of 5 sounds so I can grab it instantly when I want to. Thanks You, Fender! Great sounds in a great product at a great price. I'm a very happy customer.

Sounds great! Would love for you to post your Burnt Offerings preset in fuse so I could try it. I just got the floor and will mostly be using it to play in church also. Generally I play acoustic at church, and am hoping to use the floor for occasional effects only on the acoustic and also to use with my electric, in both cases direct to the PA.

I first tried out a Mustang V, thought that was going to work out, but it was not my cup of tea. Then I got the Mustang Floor about four months ago. I use mine mostly for recording and have the xlr outs going into my mixer and the unbalanaced outs going to two Altec Lansing powered speakers. Great tool for creativity and recording. I put together another pedal board just for the Floor with a EH Soul Preacher, Hardwire CM2, Boss SD1 that goes straight into the Mustang Floor. I have a DOD Ice Box Chorus, Boss BF-3 Flanger and an EH Small Stone Phaser I use in the effects loop of the Mustang Floor. I also have a BOSS RC-3 Loop Station before the signal hits the Altec Lansings and it makes for a great practice tool.

Dead quite during recording and having so many effects options at my feet has really cut down on the post production of my music.

If a person is willing to spend a little time with the Mustang Floor, I am sure they can get just about any tone that they could ever need for recording. I have tried it live a couple of times with my tube amps, but I really like to have single stomp boxes for my jams. I need to get off my lazy $@! and make some presets for my tube amps with just the modulations, delays and reverbs and put the Mustang Floor in my effects loop of my tube amps, but I have been having to much fun with it for recording...

Haven't gotten around to doing the FUSE thing yet, but I'm planning to spend time with it soon. It looks like a real cool asset for Mustang owners.
