I recently bought Fender Mustang 2
And i am very impressed by the features.
My rig consists of Orange dark Terror for Drive and Fender hot rod Deluxe for clean tones.
And This is my question: Is Mustang 2 loud enough for Gigs for 80-100 people

Thanks for reading :D

I have a Mustang II but it's not stock. I've replaced the stock speaker with an Eninence Cannabis Rex and cut a large oval hole on the back panel. In stock form, I don't think it's loud enough for gigs and because it's a closed back design it's very directional. Putting in a more efficient speaker and modding the back to make it an open back cab makes for a dramatic improvement.

I'm not suggesting you do this by any means. If you want to keep it stock, mic the amp for bigger gigs. Otherwise, you may want one of the more powerful Mustang models.

O.

I played a couple of gigs in a rock band with the Mustang II (unmic'd) and found that, while I could keep up by cranking the Master up to 6 or 7, at that level the amp just became too harsh and unpleasant, so I traded it in for Mustang 3, which I now run at about 3-4 (unmic'd) and which operates happily (and very loudly !) at that level without the harshness.

If 100 (even solid state) watts isn't loud enough for practicing any kind of music, then I think you either have - or soon will have - hearing issues !

First: It's 40 watts not 100!
Second: Do you know what is a loud Band rehearsal?

MatejSJ, you missed something here, read it again and this time take notes, there will be a quiz on Friday:

Thanks for pitching in to clarify what I was saying, Strings !

Playing in a band where at least two people have significant hearing issues that are almost certainly the result of playing/listening to amplified music over many years, I can only ponder at the concept that 100 watts isn't enough to practice any kind of music, even metal.

Having sat about 2 or 3m from a huge PA stack at the Rainbow in London when Mountain were in full flight, I know loud when I hear it - or don't as the case may be !

No problem at all ! All is good !

Good to hear that you have no hearing problems at the moment - I know playing loud is thrilling, but do try to take care of your hearing or you will be very sorry later on.
