Hi - just got the Mustang Floor, and am REALLY enjoying it. I like many of the presets, but as a rhythm player, many are not what I need (not complaining!) - unlike the GT6 I had for a long time. Is it possible to move presets so that the ones I would use most often would be in the same or consecutive banks, making it much easier and quicker to go from one to the next in a lives etting?

Sure! But its a bit tricky since you can't exchange two presets easily.

There is a manual -- you want the advanced Mustang Floor manual -- here that tells you how to do it:

http://www.fender.com/support/articles. ... ct-manuals

Basically, whenever you change anything on a preset (if it is preset you like as is, just change the volume on the amp a little, for example), the save button will light up. Press save and then turn the data wheel to get to the location you want to save your preset at. Press save again and it will write over the preset that was there and replace it with the preset you are moving. The downside is that the preset that used to be there is now gone from your amp and the preset you "moved" is in two places.

By using Fuse and saving presets back and forth from your amp to your computer, you can manage to exchange 2 presets, but it takes more steps than I can bear to type out. Fuse is worth learning to use anyway, so you may want to. I have all of the Mustang Floor presets saved to my computer in Fuse, so if I ever want to restore one it can be done pretty easily.

Good luck and have fun!

Exchanging presets a pair at a time would be convoluted, yes. Here's a different suggestion:
- transfer all 100 presets to the PC (either copy from amp, or download from Fender)
- copy each preset in turn to the desired location on the amp

Still a fair amount of work, but a lot less than doing a series of exchanges.

This should really be a "drag and drop" affair in Fuse.

Ah yes, drag and drop in Fuse !

Much discussed, much requested, but along with other 'normal' explorer functions remains only a fond hope at the moment.

Do you think it might be a limitation in Silverlight?

Building Fuse around Silverlight has always seemed to a few people here like an odd decision, but whether or not that software architecture limits the ability to include industry standard functions such as drag and drop is a question that can only really be answered by Fender's development team.

If the answer is yes, then the Silverlight choice seems even odder on the face of it.

Hi Fender TSL and thanks for the response !

Maybe you could answer a very simple question - can commonplace features such as 'drag and drop' be implemented in Fuse under the existing software architecture ?

Please note that I'm not asking will they be implemented, or indeed when, I'm simply asking can they ? Surely not an unreasonable question ?

So, either a representative of the 'Tech Lab' team doesn't even know what their own software is capable of, even in principle, or simply won't say, presumably for fear of giving away 'secrets' about ongoing development.

Seems it suits Fender to ask us about possible new features and improvements, but that it doesn't work the other way round.

CNY Scott

I would say 'tell me about it', but I've already tried that with the Fender reps and been given the 'standard operating procedure' reply - which sadly is that they can't, or more likely wont, comment.

Yes,

It seems to be another oversight on Fender's part. Drag and drop is definitely a feature available in the Line 6 editing software.

I too wondered why Fender used Silverlight for FUSE? I had to buy a new computer just so I could use FUSE, because it ONLY works if you have a newer version of Internet Explorer installed.
