Hello All,
I am very new to this and have searched the boards but I have a quesiton for you. I am a newbie and have an American Standard Stratocaster and I want to get close (I know I cannot get exactly) to David Gilmour's sound. I have been reading about the Mustang III and it looks really great.
I am just wondering that if I were to purchase the Mustang III, would it have just about all I need to get the sounds i.e. Time, Comfortably Numb (all of the Wall stuff), Animals and The Division Bell....all things Pink Floyd etc. I have compiled a list of the pedals I would need but if the Mustang III will do this, then my thinking is this would perhaps save me in terms of having to purchase so many pedals if they were contained within the amp itself.

If not, I am thinking about the Fender Pro Jr. and a BOSS ME-25.

I do not play for any band, just a regular home guitarist.

Thanks so much in advance for any advice/suggestions you can provide.

Anthony

Hey faprice1966,

You can probably come very close but as anyone on this forum will tell you there are a lot of variables that affect the sound. If you know what amp and effects you want to use you can play around until you find the sound you want or you can try some of the presets uploaded by other users. I did a search for Gilmour and Pink Floyd and got these results:
https://fuse.fender.com/mustang/presets.php/title/gilmour/page-1/15-at-a-time/order-up
https://fuse.fender.com/mustang/presets.php/title/pink+floyd/page-1/15-at-a-time/order-up

I'm like you, just play at home with jam tracks & recordings. I've had my MIII for about a year and it's ideal for me, I have the 4-button footswitch and the EXP-1.

lnowlin,
Thanks so much for this information and links you provided. I am sure glad those user presets for Pink Floyd are up on the Fuse community. Well, I believe you have helped me come much further along in deciding on the MIII. I need to get the amp so I can register to get onto the Fuse Community (I believe that is the way to get on it) and get a more in depth look around at all of stuff that I hear is out there.
This looks to be an outstanding and well-bulit, solid amp Fender has designed and come up with. My hats off to them.

Thanks again lnowlin for taking the time to provide me this very good info.

Anthony

Hi Anthony,

We are glad to hear that you are enjoying your amp. And yes, registering for a Fender FUSE Community account will your next best step to get into things further. Please see the information below to get that setup. And be sure to let us know if we can assist further.

(To obtain Third Party software serial numbers, you will need to go to the Fender FUSE Community. You can do this either by using the Fender FUSE software and clicking on the Community button in the lower center of the interface. Or you can go directly to the site here: https://fuse.fender.com/

Once there, you will need to click on Register in the upper right corner. There you will be able to register the amp, and set up your Fender FUSE Community account. When registering for your account, please be sure to select your amplifier type in the list and enter you serial number. Once your account set up is complete, go to the My Amplifiers tab in your Profile page and click on the Redeem button. Once you click on the Redeem button, you should see the software serial numbers. Be sure to install the ASIO Driver if you are using Windows OS (http://www.fender.com/support/articles/ ... sio-driver ), then the third party software, and complete authorization.)
