Hi everyone...first of all, I am a begginer, so pardon if this topic is in the wrong location (mods, feel free to move it around!). :?

I bought my very first Fender Mustang while I lived in Dubai as an expat. I didn't realize that the amp was 220v until I actually arrived back home with it  .

Now I am home in Canada and I dunno what to do - should I buy a transformer? Is it going to work the same way or is the change going to affect the output? Or should I take it to an authorized shop to get it fixed?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

C.

Typically manufactures only build one version and to account for different country's voltage requirements they simply tap the correct posts within the power supply to change input voltage. If the Mustang-III is built that way and Keep in mind that I haven't been able to find a schematic of the Mustang-III to verify this... it should be relatively easy for someone with a little bit of electronics experience to change it from 240v operation to 120vac.

Hmmm, same question as this topic, but the other way round:

A step-up transformer may be the simplest and safest solution.
