Hello,

It sounds to me like your issue may be related to a ground loop or something similar to that. If you're not experiencing the issue with a device that is not plugged into a wall outlet but you are with a computer that is then this could be the issue, especially if they are on the same power outlet. You may want to try a power strip with isolated outlets for both devices and see if that helps.

Thank your for your reply.

No, the mac was running on batteries when I tried this. Tonight I tried to connect a PC (Lenovo Thinkpad), and there were no problems. I've also tried different aux-cables, but the outcome is always the same.

Hello,

It's hard to say for sure without having the devices in person but if the amplifier works fine compatibility wise with other devices then I would say the issue is not with the amp. I'm not sure if either device you used puts out a different level of sound or noise floor but it sounds like it is more isolated to the computer that you are using that is causing some type of noise issue in relation to functionality with this amplifier.

A powered USB hub might isolate you from the noise. Plug the amp into the powered hub. Worth a shot.
