Press the UTIL button to activate the Utility menus.
Press the UTIL button repeatedly to step through
each of the seven menus.

Quick Access #1 / #2 / #3 — Use the first three Utility menus
to choose Quick Access presets. You can then access those
presets quickly from the footswitches (see Footswitches,
above).

This info is in the Advanced Manual for Mustang III/IV/V:

Thanks for answering my question. But I was wondering if you can put your own presets in the quick access or do you have to use the ones that are in there. Thanks again. The instruction manual isn't to clear on it.

You can assign the three "quick access" buttons to any of the 100 presets, as per strings10927 earlier reply.

You can change the sound in any of the 100 presets, either on the amp or using Fuse, and save your changed sound back into any of the 100 presets.

So, to "put your own presets in the quick access" you would:
- edit one of the presets to create the sound you want, and save it
- assign one of the "quick access" buttons to that preset you just saved

Hi papahemi69,

Thanks all for the input here. I wanted to chime in and add the basic description for setting QA Presets for the Fender Mustang III-V amps.

1. Press Utility Once
2. Select your desired Preset by turning the black encoder knob.
3. Press Utility again.
4. Repeat step 2.
5. Press Utility once more.
6. Repeat step 2 and press Exit.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if we can assist further. :)

Hey--I've got a question that might be similar to what was answered here earlier. I've got a Mustang V, and I just bought the two-button footswitch to go along with my four-button. I've got the four-button set with the presets that I want, but I'm trying to save two more to the two-button so I can have those as quick access options as well, but I can't figure out how to save them to the pedal. Can you guys give me a few pointers?

There are but three Quick Access slots available. Two QAs with the two button foot switch, three QAs with the four button foot switch.
Try Mode 2 on the four button foot switch. You can jump from one bank of ten pre-sets to another, essentially giving you ten QA banks of ten QA patches each. Yup, it takes two stomps minimum, but that's what it takes at start-up anyway. Life's a beach.

Which is my gripe about the foot switch layout with Mustang amps. When gigging, how many times are you going to use a bank of 10 presets, having to stomp the up or down at least several times to get to a preset? The answer: never! You should be able to set up a bank of 3(or 4) patches on the 4 button switch, and move up or down from bank to bank using the 2 button switch. That would make it much easier to move from preset to preset. Hopefully Fender will change this in the future.

Well, of course you are not required to use all ten patches within the bank, but I have seen fora where folks use more than 3-4 presets *per song*, so it's not far-fetched.

I just don't see how having mass quantities of "QA" presets is any different than just programming presets how you like and then placing them in any order (and bank) you wish, as is possible now.

As a matter of fact, with the foot switches available, and assuming you need a dedicated tuner button, you could never have more than *five* QAs anyway.

I see what you mean, though. It would be cool to use the two-button for bank up/down, then use the four-button for preset selection.

What is missing, however, is pre-selecting the bank, and *later* activating the desired preset within that bank when needed, as many multi-effectors do.
(Usually the bank indicator blinks until you select the preset.)
The Mustang defaults to the first preset in the selected bank.

Frankly, as it is, the Mustang III's level of complexity approaches my personal limit of tolerance.
... Or is that personal limit of ability? LOL.

The problem to me is not having more than 3 available presets per song, it's that you don't have 1 stomp access to a preset(other than the QA's). No matter how many presets you need to access per song, you have to incrementally increase or decrease the preset number to get to the desired one. No gigging guitar player could do that while playing a song without huge gaps during play. If you're a home player I'm sure it's adequate.
