Congratulations! Hope you enjoy your Mustang 2. I really like mine.

I don't know if there is a way to tell if the prior Owner used Fuse, but I am also not sure that whether or not he did will be that meaningful to you. Since many amp settings can be changed on the amp (not all, but many) and those changes can be made permanent by pressing Save, the prior owner could have changed the presets substantially without ever using Fuse.

If you are the type of person who wants to know that you are starting with a clean slate, you can restore all of the factory presets by turning off the amp, holding down the Exit button and turning the amp back on, and letting the Exit button go with the light goes out. Then you will have the original factory presets.

You may want to use Fuse yourself to back up the existing settings to your computer first, if you like them -- up to you, then if you wanted you could restore all of those presets in place of the factory presets, if you wanted to. Most likely you will end up making and saving your own presets before long anyway based on your guitar, musical preferences and ear.

Here is the link to the Mustang 2 manual if you want to look it over:

Good luck

Why is so called used fuse software a concern to you? It does not matter if fuse is what you consider used,it is not going to break down and possibly go bad like the mustang II or any other hardware piece of equipment or amplifiers that you might buy,(i do not mean your mustang II is going to break down),i am just making a point here.

If you got the fuse software on the dvd with your amp just install it on your computer and go to fender support for fuse software and update it to the latest version if you want to,if you did not get fuse on the dvd you can still download the latest version from fenders website.

You really should try out fuse with your mustang because it will make your amp sound much better if you tweak it in fuse and there are many features in fuse that you cannot access from your mustang II,for example the midrange control parameter and choice of different cabinet models,(THIS IS A BIG ONE IN MY OPINION!),you could try out cabinet models from 1x12-4x12 and all the different speaker sizes in between, these are just a few features mentioned here that are in fuse software.

Great amp. Fuse is free online to anyone - amp owner or not.

By the way, if you don't know if your M2 has been updated to the latest firmware using Fuse, doing it has one big plus. Once you have updated, you can adjust mids, and not just treble and bass, right on your amp, by holding down the exit button and turning the treble.

Hi Mr. smith,

I hope you are enjoying your amp as well. The USB cable you will need is a standard A to mini B. It is a common cable and is available at most electronics stores. I have also included links here for the Fender FUSE Community site (Fender FUSE download) and the manuals for your amp. Please let us know if we can assist further.
