Yeah, I agree that it could be longer and more in-depth. But there's one line I don't completely agree with -
Quote:
Fender doesn't yet have, say, Line 6's reputation for nail-on-head simulation
. BALDERDASH! Line6 may do the high gain models well but to me they are absolutely the bottom of the barrel when it comes to anything else.
In addition, their compressors and EQs are complete crap-fests compared to Digitech, Boss, Vox, Zoom AND Fender.

Yes,those guys at musicradar.com may have a preference for line 6 for some reason and i also agree with you with there quote: (Fender doesn't yet have, say, Line 6's reputation for nail-on-head simulation).

That being said about line 6,i think some of the problem is that line 6 did not match there speakers tonal frequencies that well with there amp models and that is why these amps may sound too digital,i say this because i have the spider HD75 head and it sounds very good with my marshall 1960a 4x12 cab but not that good with my line 6 spider III 4x12 cab that should be a closer match for my HD75.

I use my spider 4x12 cab now with my mustang V head and it sounds very good with it,not harsh or digital sounding at all,it seems to be a good match for my mustang V.

My marshall 1960a 4x12 cab is darker sounding in comparison to my spider 4x12 cab and in my opinion the mustang V needs a brighter sounding cabinet to sound good with it and visa versa for my spider HD75.

I do not know for sure how the compatible mustang V 4x12 cab sounds compared to my marshall or line 6 4x12 cab but maybe someone here can compare there mustang V 4x12 cab to a marshall 1960a cab or other brand if they have one to compare to the mustang V cab?

I also have the original red panel line 6 spider 1x12 50w combo and the fender clean models sound warmer and less digital then the clean models on the newer spiders,in fact i am using this amp with a behringer TO800 overdrive pedal into the twang clean amp channel and it sounds great! It has warmth and tube type tone that you just cannot get from the newer spiders.

To be fair i also put a beam blocker and a backboard on my spider 50w to make it sound better but even without these modifications there is still something special about the tone of the original spiders that the newer ones just do not have.
