My MIII has allowed me to hear different amps in context, that I otherwise wouldn't have been able to play. I am so taken with the Vox modeling tonse that, barring the Mustang, I would spring for a Vox AC30...really like that jangle with my Strat!

If I didn't have my Mustang V, I'd probably have gone for a Hot Rod Deville 4-10. I was actually looking at those when I came across the Mustang information by accident.

Just curious, why a HR Deville? It's such a different beast than a Mustang- 2 channel(drive channel most people don't like) no effects, twice the price. There are so many good modeling options out there in the same price range.

I have a couple of friends with those amps, and I've always liked their clean capabilities--never liked the drive channel on them, though. But prior to my Mustang, I had a lot of outboard effects, and my boost pedal and Blues Driver always sounded great through a Deville 4-10.

The Deville also had better bass response (I thought) than my previous amp, my Fender Ultimate Chorus 2-12. It's a great amp too, but doesn't have a lot of bottom end to it due to it being an open-back design.
