Which blues sound? BB King, SRV, Moore, Ford, Waters... Most are a pushed amp (model varies by player) with delay and/or reverb. Here is an AC blues tone I like. Patch in link in the description. Others I like (Marshall Style Dale Plex 2 patch), I do not have my bassman patch or Princeton patches loaded. None of these may be your thing though.

I like the '57 Champ or the '57 Deluxe with a tiny bit of reverb and adjust gain to taste. Start with the tone knobs in the middle, add some bass and mid, and then mess with the treble knob plus or minus a little bit until you like it.

Freddie used a Fender Super 6 reverb, among others, during the 70's. It was a Twin Reverb power section(the 70"s 100 or 135watt) with 6-10" speakers. Whoa Nellie, try lifting that sucker! So I'd start with the Twin model and push the Gain knob into a slight bit of distortion. You might add a compressor in front with the attack rolled back to get the monster attack Freddie had.

I would try starting there as well as bump the bias and sag if you can as well.

I don't know if I'd mess with the sag... his Super 6 Reverb would kill small mammals for miles around before any "sag" in the power supply of that amp, lol!

Yes, but the sound within the Mustang is not perfect (it is very good) and the sag helps in many cases.
