When I go through the firmware update procedure, I complete the procedure and restart the amp. It then tells me I have outdated firmware and I have to repeat the process. Is version 1.9 the latest and best, as that is what is displayed on the Help/About screen.
Also, how can I determine if I have the latest build of fuse? The screen shows the version (2.6.0), but not the build number?

From the announcement on the latest firmware release:

Note that Fender FUSE version 2.6.0 is incompatible with the firmware version 1.10 for the Mustang I & II amps. If you own a Mustang I or Mustang II amp and want to update the firmware, you will need to install the new version of Fender FUSE version 2.6.0.25 (current download on the Fender FUSE Community site (https://fuse.fender.com) to have the firmware update applied correctly. Fender FUSE will alert the user that an update is available.Firmware updates for the Mustang products are also available through Fender FUSE in the Help Menu when your device is connected.

Hope this helps.

I have downloaded and installed the latest version of fuse, but when I then update the firmware, I still end up with version 1.9
Even when I next download 1.10 to my computer and attempt to install it, version 1.9 continues to be displayed on my Help/About screen, so I assume the firmware update to 1.10 was not successful.

Hmmm, sounds like you might not have Fuse 2.6.0.25, even if you think you installed the latest version. When I installed 2.6.0.25, it automatically updated the amp firmware to 1.10.

The trouble with the download area of the Fender website is that it contains multiple announcements for firmware/software, as each new version is released. It's easy to inadvertently end up on a page saying "download latest version of FUSE here" etc when that's actually now an out of date page. This page has a link to the correct version:

https://fuse.fender.com/

If I were in your position, I'd do a complete uninstall of whatever version(s) of FUSE were on my computer, and start again with 2.6.0.25 from the above webpage. Even if I were convinced I had the right version, I'd re-install it just to be certain.

Got it. Used the link you recommended. It installed with 1.9. Then I updated the M2 and the 1.10 version installed. (Fender needs to clean up their site AND they need to modify their Help/About screen to display the build along with the version. This would people having to guess what build they have.)

Anyway thanks for the help. Now if I could just get the volume to work, I would be in business.
