Hey there, I had a few question about the Mustang 1 amp I was hoping someone could help me with.

So what's the verdict on using the M1 as an Bass amp? I assume it wouldnt work because of the speaker, so I have another question.

Can I use the M1 as a DIRECT INTERFACE for bass? Like if I turned the master volume down, could I use the mustang as an audio interface and track Bass with it, or will that not work too well?

On that same note, since I assume playing Bass through the amp wouldnt be good because of it's smaller speaker, what about putting a track through the AUX plug, and playing it, would that also not be a good idea? like if I created a Bass and Drum track to jam too, and it goes into my AUX plug and plays through the speaker, could this potentially damage it? If so, then what's the point really? Is the AUX supposed to be used more with headphones?

If that IS the case, then I assume I could use the M1 as a bass amp, Direct In, or through headphones. I know it has the Bassman model, so I was just curious.

Last thing, why the hell are the little plastic sockets that hold the plug for phones or AUX, made of the lowest, weakest quality plastic that could possibly be found this side of the sun? I swear, I SNEEZED by my AUX plug, and the plastic socket broke off(Ok, exaggerating, but you get my drift. This seems to be the most common problem, that those socket come off like they were supposed to or something. Still deciding on getting an entirely new amp because of it, and I think I will. I spent the money for the warrenty after all, I'm gonna get my cash worth.)

EDIT: Oh an, is there a way in the Fuse software to dial in smaller values on the knobs? For instance, they go up in small increments, not gradually like they should No matter how hard I try with the Ring Mod, I cant get a value between 0 and 1.4. Sometimes I need those inbetween values, but theree's no possible way to dial them in. Any advice?

I think if you turn off the Cab Sims (in Fuse) it might work.

Prerecorded Bass should be ok but wouldn't you rather listen via your computer speakers or are they even smaller sounding than the MI's 8"?

That's a good place to start but if you turn off the Cab Sims, a few of the others might work too. Try the Twin, you never know.

I don't think there is but why don't you just use a software plugin instead? There's got to be a few free ones out there that give you more control.

Not to mention the yes, it's a hundred dollar amp, with advanced technology that models other amps.... So WHY again are they using the cheapest plactic imaginable? Just seems a bit of a dumb oversight

Well, I suppose in retrospect, if they'd bought the more expensive full size USB B ports, and metal jacks and used them on all the Mustang models, the higher costs would be more negligible and I'm sure that we all wouldn't have balked at another 20 to 30 bucks added to the price.
