To begin, I have a Mustang III updated to the latest firmware and the latest version of Fuse. I have been struggling for several hours to get things to work including downgrading both the firmware and Fuse, but no joy. Previous to today, Fuse and my Mustang had been happy together.

How I got here was starting Fuse and attempting to edit a new preset. I noticed that things were not quite working and finally gave up and came here to report this.

Note that Fuse indicates the amp is connected and can indeed update the amp firmware. Also, I am having no problems with the amp in terms of playing.

Here's what I have noticed:
(1)Top left - preset selection - the icon drop down for selecting either the PC or the amp only provides the PC, so once you select the PC, the only way to get the amp icon back is to unplug and reconnect the USB cable. Even when the amp icon comes back, the screen only displays whatever the last preset was that was loaded from the PC and does not show the current setting on the amp.
(2)The preset that I created that started this mess can be loaded from the PC, but I cannot download it to the AMP.
(3)When I go to the Media Library (and BTW I am logged into the Fuse Community) then I can see the one preset I saved as well as all the presets online in the community, but none of the presets in the amp are listed. When I select just the amp then nothing is listed.
(4)There appears to be no way to get out of this mode and go back to listing and editing presets in the amp itself.
(5)I did backup all the presets when things were happy and it appears that restore does not work as well; it will just hang there....

So, basically Fuse cannot interact with the presets in the amp.... I have both reloaded the previous version of firmware as well as loaded the previous version of Fuse and nothing seems to change.

HELP!

Ron

Hi Ron,

I am sorry to hear that you are having troubles with Fender FUSE. It sounds like your amp is not syncing (connecting) with the software. Can you please check to see if Fender FUSE says 'Connected to Mustang' in the lower left corner of the user interface? Also, is the amp's display showing the Preset information as normal? Please let me know on these details, and we can go from there. Thanks.

LOL!

Yes, it does say that it is connected. Yes, the amp is displaying the presets normally. The computer knows the amp is connected. Fuse knows the amp is connected. Yes, you are correct in that the amp and Fuse are not syncing.

That's the bad news!

The good news is that I have solved it so to speak (crosses fingers).... I plugged the USB cable into other ports on my laptop and observed that except for the one port I was trying to use that there is no issue; using any of the other ports on my Lap Top, the amp and Fuse sync, the presets from the amp are editable, and the Media Library lists all the presets.

Thanks for getting after this quickly. As I am both an Audio and Computer Engineer, I applied the KISS principle this morning and solved it in ~1 minute!

Ron

Hi ElRon XChile,

You are very welcome. It sounds like all is well with a fresh USB port. Please let us know if we can assist further.
