Hi , i bought just 4 days ago a mustang III because i needed a light portable amp to take to reharsals and small gigs (my tube amp is kinda heavy) and i have to say that im impressed with the sounds of this thing , i find that some models are very realistic in the way they respond to playing :D i never imagined that this thing was going to sound this good for this price ...

So im thinking of buying the 4 button footswitch but i have 2 questions

1) Can you set 5qa presets with both connected (3 in the 4 button and 2 in the 2 button)
2) Can it save 3qa in the 4button and scroll banks with the other ?

Thanks

Some info about the subject here  viewtopic.php?f=27&t=71889

6-Button Footswitching options

Plug both a 4-button and a 2-button footswitch into your Mustang amplifier to expand your remote control options. By assigning different functions to each footswitch you can create more than a dozen different foot control combinations.

For example, you could assign Quick Access presets to the 4-button footswitch and Up/Down presets to the 2-button footswitch. Or you could bypass effects with the 4-button footswitch and select presets with the 2-button footswitch.

So the answer to #2 is yes, not sure about #1, I think that's a 'yes' too

No,
you can only set 3 QA globally on your amp which can be accessed with the 4 buttons footswitch. There is no such thing as a bank on these amp. I thought it was like this before because I was a Line 6 user but I had to figured out a completely new setup for my presets.

I'm using the 4 buttons footswitch in mode 3, to control the effects and the 2 buttons swicth as an up and down switch. It took some work to save the presets the right way but once you get used to it, it does what it's suppose to do.

Answer to number one is "NO" but it has been requested as an option many times. Not sure if Fender is working on it. QA4 and QA5 when the 2-button is used with the 4-button would be appreciated for sure.

yep, I read OP's question wrong, thanks for the correction. You can use the 2 button for preset up/down, not bank up/down while using the 4 button for QA

Mode 2, switch 4 is the bank switch, it's labeled Bank on the f/s. It selects presets in increments of ten (10, 20, 30...) each time you press the switch.

You're right but what I was trying to say was there's no bank 1 - QA1, QA2, QA3 bank 2 - QA1, QA2, QA3, etc.

QA1, QA2 and QA3 are global to the amp.

Thanks!
That suggestion clears up a lot of things for me.

I only use three presets per guitar for playing blues and only switch presets between songs. I keep the 4 button in mode one and off to the side. Between songs I can turn and change presets or check tuning. I have the2 button up front controlling the stomp box effect on/off and modulation effect on an off. This has worked great live and keeps things uncluttered on stage. NOW as plus I have the EXP-1. I have set it to control the gain on each amp model. I actually ride it while playing. Have only used at rehearsals so far like this but look forward to gigging it with this set up. BTW have the pedal set to 40% heel and 85% toe. This cleans it up pretty good heel down and a good crunch tone toe down and LOTS of tones in between.

I just picked up the MS4 foot switch and EXP1 pedal from the local music store yesterday... a bit pricy considering together they cost (+ &70 $120 = $190) nearly 50% of what the M3 amp costs! But, they do seem handy... having 5 quick-access presets with both the 2 & 4 button foot switches connected would be a nice option. I wonder if there is some hardware/technical reason they don't provide that as an option in the firmware?
