Hi crust1,

You will need to update Fender FUSE to the new version (2.6.0.25) which is now available here: https://fuse.fender.com. Once you update to this version, you should be able to run the firmware update correctly and see your amp sync with the software. Please let me know if I can assist further.

I will try doing that Alan, but the amp itself (not even attached to the computer) will not "power up". The amp is dead. I even tried using a different power chord (from the GDEC). I will do the "FUSE" upgrade and see if my amp turns back on, but I think something got "killed" in the amp itself. I'll be back in awhile after I uninstall FUSE and re install the latest version (might make my Mustang Mini work better ?) and let you know if my dead amp comes back to life. If not, it's off to the authorized repair shop in Fall River (a 1 hour ride).
Anyway Alan, thanks for the reply. I'll let you know the outcome and if my "mini" dies too :x

The Mini works fine but the Mustang II will not power on. Any further suggestions to get the amp to power up ?

Hi crust1,

There should not be any circumstances where the Fender FUSE update or the firmware would cause the amplifier to lose power. Your Mustang Mini will not benefit from the Fender FUSE update. But it should work fine with it. Please send me an email and I can assist further. Thanks.

Got it working again after a few swift kicks.
Thanks again Fender/Alan. I really dig Fender amps/guitars.

Could you let us in on the secret: How did you get it working?

It really wouldn't turn on. I held down (out of frustration) the 3 buttons (exit, save and tap) simultaneously and then turned it on, and it started. That's about it. It has been working fine now.

Sounds like you did a Factory Restore (the save and tap buttons were not necessary):

Factory Restore

You can restore your Mustang amplifier to the original factory
settings if desired. All user presets will be erased!
To restore the Mustang amplifier to factory settings:
1. Turn the amplifier OFF.
2. Press and hold the EXIT button while turning the amplifier
ON. Continue holding the EXIT button until it is no longer
illuminated.
