I just turned on my Mustang III amp today, and launched the Fuse Software. As soon as it loads, it informs me of a new firmware. I update and it is 1.10. I can't seem to find any information on this. Anyone know the changes?

Here ya go!

"Fender Mustang firmware version 1.10 is the current version of Mustang firmware.

There are various fixes and enhancements in this version including but not limited to:

*Moved EXP-1 expression pedal Volume mode (Mustang III-V) control to adjust volume level after the Amp section but before the Post-Amp Effects section.
*Added press-and-hold EXIT+TREB functionality to control MID on Mustang I/II amps.
*Improved rejection of accidental/unintended effects knob changes on Mustang I/II.
*Revised how EXP-1 expression pedal calibration is performed (Mustang III-V). The new procedure will provide users with added flexibility to customize the range of their pedal, i.e. they can throw away some heel range to get more toe sensitivity. The EXP-1 expression pedal calibration procedure is as follows:
-Press and hold UTIL while powering on, UTIL LED should light up for 1 second.
-Move the expression pedal between the desired heel and toe endpoints to set the range.
-Turn the encoder knob to the next Preset to complete the process.

Note that a Factory Restore also initiates the expression pedal calibration process.

This firmware update is recommended for all Fender Mustang I-V amplifiers"

Is there a place where we can find information about the "not limited to"?

Mustang 2 updated to 1.10 :D ... But not without a hazzle:

1. Fired up Fuse 2.6.0 and it said it would update. Updated, exit lid green afterwards, success! NO! Apparently 2.6.0 is not compatible with 1.10 and M1 and M2.

2. Updated FUSE and selected firmware update in the menu. Updated, exit lid green afterwards, success! NO! Apparently there is a special menu-item to update mustang 1 and 2 located in a DIFFRENT menu.

3. After choosing the special M1 and M2 update menu item, the update was a success!

PHEW!

FUSE "about" still says 2.6.0, not 2.6.0.25. Most files in the FUSE directory are dated in June 2012, so I guess I am running the new version.

Idea for next FUSE and Firmware versions: Make updating hazzle free

Hi Guys,

Please read through the release announcement here: viewtopic.php?f=27&t=72279

Fender Mustang I and II owners will need to update to Fender FUSE version 2.6.0.25 to get the firmware updates working correctly for their amps. Thanks.

So, do I understand right: The new Fuse-Version 2.6.025 doesn't bring any advantages to Mustang-Users. But it is needed to install the new firmware 1.10 on MI and MII with the highly appreciated virtual Mids-Controll?

Did upgrade to 1.10 on my M5. DEFINITELY a must for exp-1 owner! The pedal now do what it is suppose to do. I can now do nice volume swells! It is completely a new volume pedal to me! Highly recommanded!

OK as Alan knows I installed the beta firmware a few weeks ago to test the calibration fix for the EXP-1 which it did fix. My M3 showed 1.10. Started up FUSE, logged in and was not told I needed to update. Went to Help menu and clicked download FUSE upgrade. It didn't do it automatically so clicked cancel to take me to the webpage where I downloaded. Installed and FUSE still says 2.6.0 and firmware 1.10. I went ahead and did a firmware upgrade, the bundled selection.

So I am assuming I have the proper firmware, there were no changes from the earlier version and my FUSE 2.6.0 is really 2.6.025.

Hi Frente,

You are correct. Basically, the new Fender FUSE build adds a minor fix to a compatibility issue that relates to the Fender Mustang I/II only and a couple of additional minor updates as noted. Thanks.

Brought my M1 from the practice-room this afternoon and did a test with the new firmware:

1) Installed the new Fuse release
2) Did the firmware update. Twice!
a) the bundeled one, after reboot of the amp I got a msg "theres new firmware, download?"
b) downloaded and install it.
3) Got back to my old Fuse release, because of the Frozen Knob Error in the new one.

Result:
- The virtual Mid-Control works fine!
- The "unintended effects-switching" is cured!

I alread had a little gig outside without computer and was VERY happy that could adjust the mids directly on the amp. Great advantage. Thanks for that!

Now the most important point which stays on my wish-list is the #!§$@-Frozen-Knob Error. Please keep working on it, you had it half solved in the 2.6.012 - Beta-Release ...

Frente
