I just opened my new Mustang 3 out of its box.
It was manufactured in December of 2011.
I hear the fizz when the sound decays without a problem.
The built in tuner looks nice, but when I checked my guitar after tuning to it, with an acurrate tuner I own, all six strings were very sharp.

I havent updated the firmware yet, will these 2 problems be fixed after I update the firmware?

I don't have any of those issues, but I didn't 'test' those features before updating the firmware. Why don't you get 1.9 installed and see if it's still an issue? You can always do a factory reset if you want to go back to the old firmware for whatever reason.

Make sure your accurate tuner is set for 440 mhz standard pitch. A lot of the better tuners allow you to change the pitch, and it's easy to accidentally change it without realizing it.

I have 3 other tuners which all read the same, while the Mustang 3 tuner is way off from them. And they are set for 440.
Is the tuner in the Mustang 3 adjustable so I could correct it?

The Mustang tuner isn't adjustable, so something is messed up. My amp was issued 11/2010 and the tuner has always been accurate.

Try a factory reset (save any changes you've made in Fender Fuse first). If that doesn't work I would bring the amp back.

I bought the amp online, so I'm not going to bother shipping it back for just a faulty tuner.
Too bad cause I like the look of the tuner.

I found that the height of the guitar pickups makes quite a bit of difference... I did an intonation and wanted to check it against the Mustang built-in tuner and forgot to raise the pickups back up and it was getting some unpredictable results... once I raised the pickups back to where they should be it was perfectly accurate.

Hi CNY Scott,

The tuner on the Fender Mustang amps should be accurate within +/-2-3 cents. If you are seeing a significant inaccuracy, there may be another issue. You can try resetting the amp to factory Presets. But this will reset Preset data only. If you do reset, be sure to backup first (Fender FUSE, Main Menu/ Utilities/Backup). Please let us know if we can assist further.
