What is the cleanest amp model the Mustang 3 has?

Also, what speaker cab is the flattest, most neutral and full range?

The cleanest amp model on the Mustangs is the 65 Twin Reverb, although oddly given the amp it is modeled on, it seems a bit underpowered and needs a lot of work to get the volume up to a reasonable level without also adding gain and starting to lose the clean sound. It can be a real issue trying to volume match the Twin with other presets for live playing.

Logically the Twin Reverb cabinet is the best 'out of the box' match tone wise, but someone else may chip in here with a different view - you should just try with a few cabinet options, or perhaps turn the cabinet off altogether and see how that sounds.

Thanks, My new M3 should arrive by FEDEX tomorrow. I guess I should first create 1 or more clean patches using the 65 twin reverb, and then adjust the volume on every patch created afterwards to match those first patches.

I find the 65 Deluxe with cabs disabled the best full range, flat, and clean amp model.
The 65 Deluxe without a cab model sounds really good with my Tele, and loud but still clean.
I plan on using this to experiment plugging in an acoustic guitar and a floor amp modeler/multi effects unit.

I agree completely about the lack of volume on the Twin model...I wonder if the Fender guys might chime in with some thoughts about why that is?

Same here. For the cleanest sound, I do exactly this (BELOW) and it sounds great.

Hi Guys,

So, when we created the Presets for the Fender Mustang models, they were done with a guitar that was a good happy medium in terms of output, pick up height and pick up type. The general rule is that the the lower your pick ups are, or if they are single coil, etc., you will notice that the clean models/Presets may have a lower output. And the hotter the output from your guitar is (i.e. the higher the pick ups are, and if they are humbucker, etc.) the clean Presets should be louder and more easily balanced (if need be). I hope this information helps. Please let us know if we can assist further.
