FUSE on the iPad sure would be easier than hooking up a laptop or desktop to manage presets. Any plans for one?

why would an Ipad be easier than a laptop? Just curious, I think an ipad app would be a great idea, just wondering about the logic that it would somehow be easier?

Maybe not necessarily easier but iPads are easier to pack around. I'm gonna get one this summer and read all my charts (Real/Fake Book) off of it. I saw an app that even even allows you to change its key. Haven't seen that on a laptop. In fact, there are lots of music apps that simply don't exist for laptops... Mac or PC. The thing is almost fully USB compliant with just a few exceptions I think. There are new iPad specific periferals popping up daily it seems. Come on, Fender.

My iPad is way lighter than my laptop, will fit nicely on a music stand, and touchscreen would be easier than a mouse/keyboard. Plus, I already have several good music apps, like a slow-down player, chord finder, tab player, etc. on the iPad.

EDIT: One other thing: battery life on the iPad is about 5 times that of my laptop.

I second that emotion! The iPad is a natural for this and could live on my mic stand if needed. Rocket this thing into the future Fender!!

I also have the IPB-10 that runs off my iPad but I'm still trying to decide if its needed now that I have my Mustang. I haven't sold it yet!

I have Finale and by comparison it takes waaay longer to change keys on that than on the iPad app for Real Book and Finale's the formatting is very cumbersome for live performance as well as loading the next chart to play - that's why most pros who have to read at the gig opt for the iPad.

The screens on those netbooks are not even in the same league and you can't mount them as securely with a good reading angle on a mic stand. I've had to read on a netbook and later an Pad at a couple of gigs there's no comparison - and I was reading over the keyboard player's shoulder for the iPad. Reading and using the iPad is a lot easier and quicker than a netbook. In fact, the guy with the brand new netbook (don't remember what it was) was not happy with the decision he'd made after that gig. That was just my experience.

well it's good to be happy with what you have. I only mentioned because a netbook is already capable of what you're wishing the ipad could do.

It would be one thing if I already had a netbook, but I have neither a netbook or an iPad. I've only used someone else's at a gig. Considering what a netbook is capable of that the iPad cannot offer and vice versa, for my needs the iPad still wins. I have a 15" laptop for things I need a laptop to do but want the iPad for the things no laptop will ever be able to do. Maybe It's just wishful thinking asking for Fuse to be ported to the iPad... but I think we're entitled to have wishful thoughts and ideas.

I honestly think it is wishful thinking considering that FUSE is running on Microsoft Silverlight, and that's a limitation of the iPad, not FUSE. I think it would make more sense trying to get Apple to make their iPad's support Silverlight.

What about a Microsoft tablet instead?

If that never happens, it's fine. I'm talking about these.
