Ah, the old "Free Artist Presets" -a mystery never fully explained ! (at least not by Fender).

They are still heavily promoted by Fender when marketing the Mustang amps, but I don't think anyone is really sure what they mean.

Seems likely they are just referring to the presets in the online Fuse library, some of which do try to emulate the tone of 'famous' players.

If that's really all there is, it's pretty shifty sales talk - like you, I have never been able to track down any other "Free Artists Presets" provided by Fender.

I have to admit, I was a little bummed when I saw this ==>

viewtopic.php?f=26&t=50946

Isn't the G-DEC3 around $100? And they get close personal attention from Steve Vai?

Sounds like whatever they intended "Artists Presets" to be never materialized.... too bad, the concept sounds (no pun intended :) like a great idea! I just have to wonder how much longer they're going to advertise "FREE Artists Presets" using 3" tall letting on the box? :)

I guess Fender considers all who uploads something to FUSE as 'artists'

As I said above, a mystery never fully explained - and still no 'official' response to this thread, even though as you say the Mustang packaging and related promos continue to push the 'artist presets' as one of the amps' selling points.

I guess 'truth in advertising' rules don't apply to rock and roll ?

Hi Guys,

Fender is paying attention to our user forums as evidenced by my response here now. The Presets and Band tracks referenced in this thread from Steve Vai were created by Steve Vai. As was mentioned in the linked page here, the Band Tracks were and are available for download here: https://fuse.fender.com/tracks.php/arti ... e/order-up.

Cheers,

Alan, just to be clear, this is what everyone's talking about:

Image

This led a lot of people to believe you could download presets (directly to your amp!) which were created by known artists.

If Steve Vai (or any other known artist) uploaded Presets compatible with Fender Mustang amps, we'd like to know where they are, because nobody can seem to find them. Not Band Tracks, but Artist Presets as stated on the box.
