Hi
I want to send a stereo signal to the PA (to get the most out of the stereo delay) from my Mustang III but keep the internal speaker working for montioring purposes. i can't use the headphone socket because it cuts out the speaker. The effects send is described a mono and presumably delivers a summed signal from the two outputs of the stereo effects unit (the same two outputs, I guess, that go to the headphone socket) so i won't get any stereo effects on the PA using the effects send.
Can i solve this problem using the USB socket?
If I sacrifice the warranty and promise to buy another Fender if it all goes wrong can i replace the effects send socket with a stereo socket, find the stereo outputs and connect it up? I know this is probably not recommended. Alternatively is there any way of stopping the headphone jack disabling the internal speaker?
I'd be glad for any help, thank you.

Well, using USB will require a laptop as you just can't take the USB signal and send it to the mixer and you'll be dealing with latency/phase issues between the speaker and the slightly delayed signal from the laptop. Modding the effects loop send might be quite difficult. I don't know exactly how they're summing that stereo signal to mono.

I think your best bet, if you're handy with a soldering iron, is to suss out the pin outs of the headphone jack on the circuit board. You could then solder one stereo or two mono 1/4" jacks and mount them somewhere at the back of the amp. Now, unless Fender has done something funky about the way the headphone jack works, this should allow you to get the headphone signal to the board without cutting off the speaker.

Me, I'd go ahead and put 1/4" plugs on the ends of those cables and plug them into a stereo D.I. Velcro'd to the back of the amp. Maybe use something like this - http://www.americanmusical.com/Item--i-BEH-DI20-LIST?SRC=D0407FG0HAMS0000&utm_source=froogle&utm_medium=feed&

Thanks for that everyone
I guess that since the IV Pre amp is basically identical and probably the same unit there must be a couple of stereo sends in the III that have been joined up and are jude waiting to be separated and connected to stereo socket
Does that make sense?
