I bought a Mustang II several months ago but haven't had time to plug it into my computer. I installed all the stuff today but one piece of software is asking for a serial key and it's not accepting the serial # off the back of the amp. Did I just lose the code for this? :?:

Edit : Ableton also

Hi m0use4,

I am just checking in with you to see if you have gotten the software serial number issue here sorted out? If you still need assistance, please let me know. Thanks.

okay so I've gotten everything installed and authorized, and i have gotten amplitube working, i think (it's making guitar sounds through my headset, definite progress)

Now how do i get ableton to record it?? I can't seem to get ableton to even play a sound through my headset, and no matter how hard i smack the strings it's not registering anything.

Hi m0use4,

It looks like you are close here. I see that you have several audio drivers that show up in the ASIO settings window. I would suggest that you try them from the top of the list, outputs only. So expand the NVIDIA driver first, expand the view, select the available output, and make sure that other outputs and all inputs except the Mustang inputs are disabled.

Then close the ASIO settings window and go to the Test Tone button in the Audio preferences tab and press the Off button to start the test tone.
Listen for the test tone. If you hear it, you should be ready to record and playback audio. If not, go back to the ASIO driver window and deselect that output and try the next driver, etc. Please let me know how it goes.

Cheers,

Okay. So now i am able to hear the test tone when activated, as long as Amplitube is closed. I cannot hear guitar through the speakers without Amplitube, and I don't see any visible sign of it recognizing when I strum. If Amplitube is open, I get this error.

Windows 7 BTW.

Hey m0use4, for basic recording I personally found the Ableton interface to be overkill, if you're not doing anything complicated, you might want to check out Audacity. It's free and works great for the basics. You can download it here

Did you go to Edit/Preferences/Devices and select the Recording device as 'Mustang' from the list?

Hi m0use4,

What your driver in Live's ASIO Settings window is telling you is that the driver is already in use by another application. It sounds like in this case it is AmpliTube. So, you will want to close AmpliTube and any other program that may be trying to use that sound hardware and allow Live to use it. Please let me know if that corrects the issue you are seeing there.
