I've downloaded and installed the Fender AISO driver, it's running, the little icon is sitting in my toolbar as I type, but I can't get anything besides Amplitube Fender LE to recognise the amp.

I've tried Audacity and the Wavosaur thingy that's mentioned elsewhere on here, but nowhere in the audio device setups is there an option to select the Mustang.

I've also seen that you need to go into sounds in the Win control panel and do something in there, but I can't get the Mustang to show up in there either.

Any suggestions?

In the Windows Sound control app (Hardware and Sound > Manage Audio Devices), you have to go to the Recording tab. I run Windows 7 64-bit and it's labeled "Internal AUX Jack - Mustang Amplifier" for me. That should be "enabled." It should tell you just by looking at it if it's enabled or not. You're done here.

Now go into Ableton Live. Go into Options > Preferences. Make sure that Driver Type is ASIO and that Audio Device says Fender Universal ASIO. You should get the little icon iin your taskbar for Fender's ASIO. Then click the Hardware Setup button. This takes you to the ASIO settings box. Expand the Mustang Amplifier entry. Make sure that both "Mustang Amplifier" and "In: 2x 44.1kHz, 16Bits" are both selected (light blue). Also, for you to be able to hear through your computer speakers, you'll need to expand whichever entry is your sound card and have at least one output selected. Mine says "Realtek High Definition Audio", "Realtek HD Audio output" and "Out: 8x 44.1-192kHz, 32Bits".

Once that's done, close that box and go back to your Preferences window. Click on Input Config. I have "1 (mono) & 2 (mono)" and "1/2 (stereo)" selected. I would try those first. Click OK. Under Output Config, I have the same top two highlited. Click OK. Close the Preferences window.

You should now be ready to record, but first you have to "arm" your recording track. Instructions on how to do that are built into the program's Help files and tutorial.

Thanks for the reply.

Thing is, I've looked in control panel/sound/recording. Using Vista though and there's nothing like the Aux thing you mention. I've even tried selecting "show disconnected" and show disabled" devices or whatever it says.

Someone in another thread suggested trying Reaper so I'll give that a go.

Got the Mustang recognised in Ableton, but it's way too complicated for me, I thought I'd recorded a 20 second test, but when I came to play it back I got nothing :)
