Edit:To add a tilt feature for the mustang's control panel would only increase the cost for a new mustang in my opinion.

And I think people are so excited about the Mustang series that Fender could upgrade the series and people would pay for such additional features. Maybe a STALLION series! When the MIII came out I was at GC the next day trading up from my MII because of the additional features.

That's because Rock n' Rollers have a rather HUGE tendancy to drink something called BEER, which they like to put on top on their amplifiers. This of course leads to a phenomenon called 'SPILLING YOUR BEER', which is no problem IF the connectors and controls are on the FRONT of the amp. However, in the case of the Mustangs, DESTROYS the amplifier.

You're braver than I. Personally I wouldn't want to spill 12 ounces of anything on my amp, no matter where the controls are! :?

Do you use a mic? Get one of these:

Just make sure your pedal isn't directly under it...

I'm probably in the minority on this, but I like the controls on top. At first I was a little wigged by it, but after setting the Mustang V up, I realized that looking down at the controls was better then having to hunch over.

Then I changed around my set up, and I actually have the head on the floor now, which makes the LCD screen in perfect view. The top of the cab is used as a nice resting place for my laptop which I used more then the amp knobs to adjust.

I also bought a Mustang I over the week end. Not sure how I feel about the controls on top... but once again I mostly use a laptop.

Then I'd knock over the mic stand, which would not only make a mess but a lot of noise too.

Beside nobody ever let's me near a mic.

Wejarvis4,your setup is not a common one,how many others here with a mustang V head really puts it on the floor? I have my mustang V head on top of my line 6 4x12 cab and the cab is on a 15" stand that i use for music gear storage, the top mounted control panel really is not that good for my current setup,if i was a short person i would not even be able to see the control panel.

I also think the power amp and transformer in the mustang V would have better ventilation if the controls were on the front because the back of the amp head would most likely be open and not closed like it is now,i do not think the mustang V head has enough air flow with only drilled holes in front of the head with the grill cloth covering it in my opinion.
