I don't know if this is a possibility for a future firmware update. Right now if you plug in the headphones it will mute the amp. Can we have the option to have both going? I'd love to be able to put headphones on as a monitor while playing.

Hi wejarvis4,

Thanks for your feature request idea. I will pass it along. In the mean time, you also have the line out that does act as a simultaneous output. So, depending on what gear you have, this may be an option as well. Please let me know if I can assist further.

On my Mustang III, the line out and the headphone jack are one-in-the-same. Do you mean using the effects send as a 'line out'?

I think OP would like to have the sound coming out of the internal Celestion speaker while using the headphones as a monitor.

Hi strings10927,

Thanks for noting my unclear information. Long week... :) So, depending on the Fender Mustang amp we are talking about, the effects send can (as you pointed out) be used as a line out (Mustang III-V). With the Mustang I-II, USB will be the only option to output audio and have the speaker live simultaneously. Obviously this will not work for some applications. If folks are looking for an amp that can output analog audio with the speaker live, the Fender Mustang III-V would be an good choice.

I have a Mustang V, but unfortunately I also have stereo effects that use the effects out and in.

Hi wejarvis4,

I hear you there. It would be possible in some situations to use the USB output, depending on the gig and gear available. Is the stereo effect something that you might be able to create with the built-in effects?

I could try using the Usb out to the laptop i'm using.

As for the effects... My group plays a number of different types of music, so using the footswitches to select patches is more critical then turning effects on and off. I've found switching modes to be a little cumbersome for my uses. Using external effects allow me more switches then the 6 would normally have

Hi wejarvis4,

Have you thought about programming the effects for each patch you need so that the effects change (or remain current) as you move from Preset to Preset? Anyway, let me know how it is going, and what worked for you best. And please let me know if I can assist further.
