This is my first time visiting this forum,

I became interested in the Mustang Line after seeing the floorboard for the first time this week. Became even more interested after hearing it is the same price as the 100 watt amp!

I wanted to add that I have heard this kind of hissy decay before in a modeling amp – the first few times I tried the Peavey Vyper. At that time (this must have been over 4 years ago) I was very interested in the Vyper line, but I kept coming across the hiss envelope at the end of a chord as it decayed.

I was active on the Peavey forum for a short while, trying to figure out what players thought of this, and the general feeling then was, “It’s just a part of the amp, we could never get rid of it.”

My initial impression was this hiss is a part of the “modeling” technology, but it seems strange that if you listen on headphones you don’t hear it.

I apologize if this has been answered, but does anyone know if the hiss is present on the new Mustang Floor?

Thanks for reading!

Hi iluvchiclets,

Thanks for your inquiry. I believe that you will find that amp modeling has come a long way even in the last 4 years. My suggestion would be that you take a listen to the new Fender Mustang Floor and see how you like it. And please let me know if I can assist further.

Thanks for the communication Alan,

Wow - someone from Fender writing on the forum! I wish all forums were like that, I am impressed.

I am very interested in trying out the Floorboard. There are some in stock at my local Long and McQuade, I think I will ask them to open up a box to let customers try it out.

I sincerely appreciate you writing.
